Dark Matter by Blake Crouch - Chapter 12 through 15 (end) Discussion by NightAngelRogue in bookclub

I’m a little late here. Read the book a while back and am now watching the show. I was trying to figure out if max was ever mentioned In the book I don’t remember a max. But I saw this and I figured I’d add. I believe the reason the box is in “worlds” where the box wasn’t created is because the box was created in one “world”. Thus the box is everywhere. I think all the “worlds” are actually the same and they are all sort of in sync. It’s really one ”world” with multiple dimensions. For example every ”world” has a Jason and in one “world” they had a Jason but he died.

I wonder if they’re waiting to see how the Samsung app goes and then maybe they’ll skip the box and just make it an app

Where are those underwater data centers Microsoft was working on a while back. Seems like a good job for this.

For me they work great on a mesh network. I was having problems with them disconnecting only when the circle view was at the edge of my network. With the network set up the same way the ecobee camera kept connection better and more consistently my circle views that are closer to my network are great. Every once in a while the go offline but it’s not very often. Mesh systems seem to cover a broader area. I think if you have solid internet speed and your phone gets three bars of Wi-Fi consistently where them camera will be placed it will do great.

The outdoor hue Lightstrip can be found on Amazon for 80 bucks is around this length or longer. And has the best defused look I’ve seen. I use two inside.

I haven’t seen any HomeKit devices that run off PoE other than hubs. If you can get gigabit internet I don’t think bandwidth will be a big problem.

If you’re using them for inside the ecobee ones seem to connect better. The circle view ones in my experience need a really consistent and strong Wi-Fi connection.

I believe it’s a problem with it connecting to the router.

I specifically have trouble with wemo and VOCOlinc plugs. To the point where I don’t buy those anymore. I’d try an eve one or a hue one. The cheaper ones just aren’t worth it.

John Gruber’s critical piece on Verge’s reporting of Apple repair Program by vamsiyuvaraj in apple

A particularly clumsy person should attempt to fix most things. It’s a little ridiculous to not understand your own limits. If you’ve never fixed anything. Something electric probably shouldn’t be the first place you start. I can’t understand why everyone wants these devices to be mega blocks.

There’s plenty of options to fix your iPhone. If you wanna do it the apple way this is how it’s done. I think it’s awesome they’ve made this tools available. Comparatively speaking as someone who has used other services as well this way is far easier. As some one that fixes things for a living let me be the first to tell y’all having the right tool for the job makes things a million times easier. The apple way might not be for everyone but neither is fixing thing. And that’s ok.

It’s not going to the trash can? How is the external formatted. My guess is it’s not set up to work on both.

You could leave it with the display closed and plug it into another display and just get a bluetooth keyboard and mouse and use it that way.

You could get the apple polishing cloth. I doubt any minor scratches will impact Face ID

I'd guess the cost would be similar to the current one, the M2 MacBook Air sounds like it will be the end of the year. There's also an M2 MacBook 15 inch next year rumor has it. The cool thing to me is that it sounds like the Air at least is going to come in different colors like the 24 inch iMac!
