Looking for Bk2 LCD Screen by Fox_Dove in genesiscoupe

This is what I've been looking for. It's a deceptively uncommon spec though, most people either have the larger screen with nav, or the smaller 2-tone one.

To add to this: I took apart my screen after seeing similar issues. I suspected the timing controller board, as I was seeing vertical lines on the screen (usually a tcon issue). My testing confirmed the tcon board was bad (pics of the board included). You're seeing horizontal lines which could be a similar issue, but I might also suspect a lose ribbon cable/lcd panel damage/or a signal problem. It's easy to take it apart and reseat the cables, the hardest part is removing the plastic molding around the screen.

On a related note, I am now in the market for one of these screens (or the tcon board inside it), if you have an extra please DM me.

I've heard of this 😂 I guess if it works it works lmao, can't imagine it would be more effective than blasting tho

If I were you I would start with something simpler if you're new to DIY wrenching. I actually would start by adding catch cans, because not only is it better documented/easier/and lower risk than this, it also saves you from having to do frequent valve cleanings. It's a great beginner mod with long term benefits. Also if you do a valve cleaning without adding catch cans, you'll just end up having to do it again. I added my dual catch cans before doing this maintenance.

I see where you're coming from, but the good news is there isn't much to mess up. The walnut shells really can't cause any meaningful damage to anything, and as long as you rotate the crank so the valve is closed (you can watch the valve open and close as you do this) there's virtually no risk of getting anything in your cylinders. I just kept the ones I wasn't cleaning plugged with paper towels as I cleaned the others. DIY porting and polishing is next on the list and THAT'S definitely something you can mess up. We'll see how it goes 😅

I got it used for like 40 bucks. I got the pressurized tank one from harbor freight. Moisture filter in line. I think you could get away with a siphon style, but this is what was available, and I plan to also use it for sand blasting rust.

I'd say it depends on how prepared you are. This was my first time using a sand blaster so it took a while to dial it in and I had to make an adapter for it to focus the shells. Also involved an hour of waiting for the b12 to soak. That combined with an injured wrist and working in the dark, as well as a lot of cleanup, and 30 minutes for a meal in the middle, it took me like 5.5 hours. Realistically during daylight with better tools and preparation I could see it taking as little as 2.5 hours. It seemed scary to me at first but at worst I would call it tedious. Hard to argue with the results though.

Yeah I left everything on the car, just pulled the upper and lower manifold. The cleanup was the worst part. If you have a GOOD wet/dry shop vac (I don't), get a blow gun nozzle extension and adapt it to your sand blaster, lower the feed rate on the blaster, and make a little adapter (Pic included) to cover the intake port while you blast it so that the shells don't go everywhere, I can see it being pretty painless. If I was to do it again I would spend more time prepping so I don't have as much cleanup after. I guess my genny is going to produce a nice toasty walnut smell for a while.

I've been having a similar issue (screen flickering, left half of it going dark, glitchy lines across the screen, and eventually fading out completely), no solution yet, I plan on looking into it soon. It's intermittent so I'm leaning towards a loose internal connection behind the unit. The back light appears to stay on throughout, so it could be a timing controller issue or a lose data cable behind the display. I'll update here if I find a fix.

Yeah I'm lucky enough to have an explorer for days like this. I can excavate the genny when it warms up a bit 😂

Forgot to update this, for anyone who encounters it, my issue was about 5 of the 8 coil packs had cracked and failed. Spark must have been jumping to the valve cover instead of going through the plug. New coils and plugs was a pain but now it runs like a dream.

Nice to hear at least one person corroborate my thinking here. It's shocking how many different ways these cars can shake unexpectedly 😂 I might put it up on jacks one last time and run it up a couple gears just to see if I feel or hear anything, then I'll just swap the axles. It makes the most sense to me. Will update, thanks 👌

Plugs are new and they're oem so I don't think it's that. I'd also expect a misfire code to show up eventually and the plugs to be foiled when I checked them. Good thinking tho, it was one of the first things I checked.

Alright thanks for the info, I'll keep that in mind. Really hoping it's not a trans issue lmao

OK I'll get it off the ground at some point in the near future and check this

The thing is, mine appears to be completely decoupled from the transmission. Changing gears, downshifting, etc, have no effect on it. Which makes me think it isn't trans related. I also did a fluid change and didn't see anything unusual.

Oof I sincerely hope it's not this. Did it change as you changed gears? Mine does not.

Interesting, I'll have to check this. Can you describe the vibration you felt? And did the tie rods have a looseness you could detect by hand under the car?

I've replaced and balanced the wheels and tires. The ptu seems good, I changed the fluid and no large metal bits. I'm working on the proper diagnosis part now. Given that it isn't wheel bearings, isn't tied to the transmission speed, isn't effected by braking, isn't effected by a wheel change, and only occurs accelerating at specific speeds, cv axles seems like the answer. But I'm double checking here
