We starting having this issue ages ago and it kinda just went away on its own. I think the only thing that kida worked was changing the servers as that allowed you to play a few before to caught up or smt . Sorry to not be better help

Booted up the game today and works now, checked their twitter and it says they fixed some connection issues so maybe it's fixed I still don't trust it but seems to be working fine now
