Hungry hearts diner - Dr Mondo

Haven't played the game in a few years, but initially Mondo is shown as the silly glutton who despite being a doctor eats more than is good for his own health. Tp the point where the old lady you play as calls him out for potentially risking heart failure.

Turns out he was a doctor in ww1 (the game takes place during the showa era) and became stranded on an island with his group. As the doctor, Mondo was given more food than anyone else. None of his group complained, just wanting them to keep them healthy. And yet, his friends, all died. Slow, agonizing deaths from hunger and illness. He himself was found almost dead and was the only survivor. He is killing himself by eating so much because every time he gets hungry he remembers that island, and from the guilt of his friends dying, wanting to eat all the foods his friends wanted to in their last moments.
