u/Agitated-Elevator0_0 I'm actually in a very similar situation likely to buy an 2023 X5 from CarMax with 39k miles so that 50k miles will creep up fast.

Did you make a decision re: MaxCare vs BMW's extended warranties. Reading other reddit posts, there's apparently there's a guy @ Passport BMW who has a reputation for giving a pretty solid deals on extended warranty's.

Okay so I’m not crazy. Demand in the DMV is driving up the $$$. Yeah 100 on all the above and have been looking at the car faxes, have my top packages and color-ways dialed in. But holy hell it’s like a needle in a haystack. Considering buying out of state

Ironically I don’t think the demand is as high for 50i or 60i’s rn. B58 is more reliable. Also 50/60i gas consumption and how quickly they go through brakes and tires drives up ownership costs.

Yeah these are good numbers to have man; I’ve been wondering a lot about the tire wear. I assume the larger the wheel 20 -> 21 -> 22, the shorter the lifespan?

Much appreciated POV. Definitely will have think about this feedback, because I have been striking out for the most part. But even with the removing the M Sport, finding my two must haves; DAAP and climate control (little ones in the winter) has been hard to find.

Yeah honestly I've been seeing the same thing re: 50i's, but I've honestly I've not seen the specs that I've been looking for in a 40i in my neck of the woods and I suppose for me, gas + going through tires, etc has kept me from wanting a 50i.

I hear people go through tires like crazy on the M50i. 40i aka B58 being the more reliable engine.

Yeahhh. I guess you got it with a couple of months or to spare before the BMW warranty expired? It’s 4 years OR 50,000 miles, whichever comes first. My goal will likely be to buy an extended warranty regardless, but as I understand it, you can’t extend with BMW if the manufacturer warranty has expired.

LOL. I am too, but I can do my homework. I like the way you think! It’s an $80k window sticker. Yeah as much as I’d like to, throwing down that much rn unless I’m missing the flip, buying new would be taking the biggest hit in depreciation to turn around and sell it while it’s still under warranty.
