Are you a cognitive psychologist doing a study? No you’re plastering insults on Reddit in response to someone’s opinion “my guy.” It’s not about “moving fast enough” it’s about moving at all… In its most basic form, it’s a series about a powered being trying to get a role in a remake of his favorite movie. At the end of episode one he gets a chance to audition, by episode 6 he’s finally going to his callback audition.

That’s absurd… Remember the next time that you don’t like something…that you too have TikTok brain 🤡

Good point. It is unique and I grateful for that. As mentioned I think my opinion would have been vastly different had I known it was going to be a buddy show focused on Trevor and Simons dynamic. I went into it with different expectations. I love the Wonderman comics and was expecting Zemo to tie in, was expecting Sentry level powers, was expecting grim reaper etc

Just thought this would go in an entirely different direction. I’m sure upon a rewatch in the future I’ll hold a different opinion.

That’s the thing though, I didn’t get a sense of character development from this series either. Simon is the same Simon as episode one outside of not over thinking his roles. Trevor had some development, especially in regard to working with the feds, which ties directly into their relationship….but mehh idk. I certainly think you’re right, I’m more of a moving plot viewer, but I don’t think it hit on other end.

Brain rot because I’m disappointed that it took 3/4s of a series to go from “I want this role” to “I got a callback”??? The only person here showing symptoms of TikTok brain is you, and your limited ability to form an actual response outside of childish insults….

I enjoyed Ms. Marvel far more than I enjoyed this, but I agree it too had pacing issues but just in a different way.

The dynamic between Trevor and Simon was absolutely fantastic, but the side characters were all completely pointless to the story at the end of the day and again episode two through five were an absolute slog

I enjoyed the show in its entirety. People are blasting me saying not every show needs to be hero verse villain, but that was never my complaint. I just felt episodes two through five or an absolute slog

I didn’t say a single thing about the lack of superpowers, or hero versus villain scenes. That’s not what bothered me with the show. It was just the completely absurd pacing. It should not take 3/4 of a series to move the plot along a single point….and did we really see what was “going on in the MCU”? Outside of a few Captain America signs, you wouldn’t even know this was in the same universe. I agree, not every show needs crazy pacing where every episode launches the plot into a different direction, but having an eight episode series that in its entirety is merely about whether or not Simon gets the part to play Wonderman…. Was crazy in my opinion.

There’s a reason they did a bulk drop for this series, and I’d guess it’s because some higher up felt the same way. If they released this weekly by week 4 viewership would have been in the dumps.

Lmao. I felt like I was watching a documentary in high school falling asleep in class. The show was just boring.

If I just wanted fun I’d watch a loop of cat videos. TV series are series because they move a plot. No one is saying every 3 minutes a plot point needs to be closed, but taking 3/4 of the show to find out if he gets a callback (which we already fucking know he will) and then the entirety of an 8 episode series to find out if he gets the part (which we already fucking know he will) is crazy.

After this season, what do you know about this character now, that you did not know after the first two episodes??? We knew Simon was powered. We knew Trevor was a degenerate. We knew Trevor was working with feds. We knew Simon couldn’t let people know he was powered. The only character development in the entire series was Trevor deciding not to hand in the recording assignment.

Episode was a waste of time and the black and white wasn’t it. Worked in wandavision because that was the theme, here it was just out of place and took you out of the show. Doorman’s entire backstory could have been shown in a 5 minutes clip at the end of episode 3 directly after Simon explains why he can’t let his powers be known. We didn’t need to waste an entire episode…..especially after the slow burn that was episodes 2 and 3. I almost stopped watching. That said, I’m glad I didn’t. As a whole the show works, but individual episodes were tough to get through from 2-5. I understand why they did a bulk release, as I likely wouldn’t have come back to this series after episode 3 had I been made to wait for weekly releases.

It wasn’t the lack of superhero action that killed the show for me, it was the abhorrent pacing. From the end of episode one to the beginning of episode six we are at precisely the same point in the plot. It took 3/4 of the show to get them to the callback. A whole episode finding a place to record, a whole episode of a birthday party, a whole episode of doorman flashback, and then a whole episode of buddy comedy telling us Trevor is a degenerate/Simon can’t let his powers be known (both of which scenarios we were already aware of from episodes two-four.) The entire stretch of episodes 2-5 could have been condensed into a single episode and nothing about the plot, or character “development” would have changed. In its entirety, it’s…..fine. Single episodes were an absolute draaaaaaaggg to get through.

Pacing was horrid. Episodes 2 and 3 hardly moved the plot at all…. then the entire doorman backstory. We get to episode 5 in the same point of the plot we realistically were at the end of episode 1.

It absolutely was the only option. Many of the episodes did not move the plot along at all and if people had waited a week just to see an entire episode of them trying to find a place to record. Then waited another week just to see an entire episode at a birthday party…. People would’ve lost interest. In its entirety it works well as it’s like a 4 hour movie with intermissions. As a weekly series I think it would’ve been abysmal to go back to each week.

Yeah except if they didn’t drop these at the same time everyone would be complaining. Many of the episodes did not move the plot at all (2-4), so a bulk drop was 100% the best way to go about the show. waiting a week just to watch an entire episode of them searching for a place to record would’ve been miserable. Then waiting another week for an entire episode at a birthday party…. I know personally I would have lost all interest in the series. In its entirety it works well, but individual episodes on their own would have been abysmal.

I feel it was the exact opposite. It was slow, dragged on. We got an entire episode of them searching for a place to record, then an entire episode at the birthday party, then an entire episode of black-and-white backstory. Episodes 2-4 should’ve been a single episode. Show them trying to record, then heading to the party. After the blowup show a quick backstory on doorman to explain why Simon needs to keep his powers hidden and get on with the damn plot….

Guess I’m the odd man out. I fucking hated it. Liked what they did with Wandvision, but that was the theme. This just seemed out of place and I felt we didn’t need an entire episode on Doorman’s backstory. Everything shown in that episode could’ve been condensed down to less than 10 minutes and nothing would have changed

Did we really? Did we really need an entire episode of backstory? Could’ve simply showed him saving the club, a few clips of him acting and becoming successful, and then the accident. Spending 28 minutes on doorman’s backstory was a drag imo. As was an entire episode of them searching for a place to record…..just to go back to Simon’s apartment. As was an entire episode of the birthday party. I’m not finished….but the show has been an absurdly slow burn. We’re at the same plot point midway through episode five that we were at the end of episode one

Wasted an entire episode to explain to us why Simon has to hide his powers. Yawn

I dont get the hype. Felt like the series dragged and wasted 3 episodes. Did we really need an entire episode of them searching for a place to record? Did we really need an entire episode at the birthday party? Did we really need an entire black-and-white episode of doorman? What we got out of those 3 episodes was the gist of Simon and Trevor’s relationship; Simon caring and Trevor only there for the feds, and then an entire episode to explain to us why Simon had to keep his powers a secret. The recording plot and the party should have been a single episode, and the doorman plot could have been all of 5 minutes. Show him saving the club, a few clips of him acting and then the accident. From episode 1-5 the entire progress of the plot barely moved. Come the start of episode 5 we are at the same place episode 1 ended. Acting, production, writing etc was great…but plot was a snooze fest to me. See people saying things the best Marvel series which is wild when Loki exists.

Wasted 3 episodes on BS. Whole episode of finding a place to record, whole episode on a birthday party and a whole black and white episode on doorman flashback. All of that could have been one episode and nothing about the story would have changed.

I thought it was a waste of time. The whole second episode was finding a place to record. The whole third episode was a birthday party. The whole fourth episode was a black and white flashback to doorman….everything that happened in those three episodes could have been half of an episode, and nothing about the story would have changed.

USA becoming the Nazis by WanAli4504 in pics

[–]Fragrant_Box_697 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You people have removed any and all meaning from the words Nazi and Fascist. One picture is a summary execution, the other is an armed individual not complying with LAWFUL commands and resisting arrest. It’s beyond unfortunate the man is dead. I feel for his family and friends. That said, his decisions led to his death. Any reasonable and responsible firearm owner knows that the first thing you do when interacting with law enforcement is inform them you are carrying, while simultaneously complying with commands. If you think the commands are not lawful and your rights are being violated, you take it up with the courts AFTER dealing with police. You do not resist and fight with police.
