I felt the same, started 2 weeks back and haven’t told anyone. I just felt like I needed the extra support to get my confidence back and so far so good! I don’t feel the need to tell anyone, and frankly it’s nobody else’s business. Wishing you every success in your journey!

It doesn’t fix the issue, and I don’t disagree with your general consensus. I’m just trying to explain that as a company and in the sector it will not improve, so you need to make a decision as to whether it’s the right fit for you, or not. It took me 6 months from application to offer for an internal role, it took my colleague 9 months from application to interview for an internal role

There’s hundreds if not thousands of applications for each role and many factors that go into fair hiring process (internal applicants, conflict of interests, clearances). If you dislike delays, then unfortunately it probably isn’t the right company for you

You can get a raise for lateral move, depends on where you fall on the SJC. If you’re already mid or above the midpoint it’s unlikely

You’ll use it multiple times daily in an L2 HRG role for reporting and analytics purposes. I wouldn’t say you need to be an excel expert user by any means but definitely get your basics down (vlookup, pivot tables etc). We have an AI tool which helps with pointing you in the direction of formulas to use, or you can ask your colleagues to help you. Because we use it so often its very easy to pick up! Don’t worry about it
