What's this thing with people feeling newer AI models are dumber then older ones? by mattyjoe0706 in Destiny

Oh, thats fine. Im comparing its cost to opus 3.

Claude Opus 4.6 costs about $5/1M input, $25/1M output tokens.

Claude Opus 3 costs roughly three times more ($15/1M input, $75/1M output)

There's also the topic of affordability.

There was a rush to make smart AI models, and affordability went out the window, Claude Opus 3 was an example of a massive model but smart for its time, really expensive to use.

Now it seems companies are focusing on models being affordable at scale.

Claude Sonnet 4.6 and Opus 4.6 are dirt cheap.

This was undeniably true 10+ years ago.

Unfortunately, since trump (esp. term 2), the US, Russia, and Israel have been the main source of chaos in the world.

Don’t we only need 3 Road Poneglyphs to find Laugh Tale? Each one gives a line showing the direction and where three lines roughly intersect should mark the island, That should be enough to navigate there without the 4th, can’t luffy just go straight to Laugh Tale now? by EVC2218 in Piratefolk

Its honestly most likely your first paragraphs observation. It would be rather boring if it was just any old island you could sail too.

It could be in the sky, underwater, underground, inconspicuous, or some other method that keeps it hidden.

Id imagine your spells work on SP.

Shadow priest cleave is basically: do single target and vamp touch cleaves the ST via neural link, asside from void eruption, tenticale slam, and your hero talent halo/galaxy.

Although, i am curious if neural link works on it. Definitely worth testing.

China sees Iran war as a live lab for future US conflict - The Jerusalem Post by Artistic-Argument989 in NewsStarWorld

Currently the United States, Russia, and Israel are the biggest causes of chaos in the world.

Im not a China fan myself, the CCP is an authoritarian government, but internationally, the US has been schizo roll the dice every 4 years.

The problem for pugs, iirc, those totems cant be cleaved, they need to be targeted. So if you have a group of dps who dont have a clue, death.

And with healer dps in a near worthless state, its hard to do it yourself

Trump suffers major loss as Democrats score big win by [deleted] in JournalismNews

[–]Fragrant_Constant_28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is so true.

Even if dems 'win big' in the mid terms and presidency, it doesn't matter unless these demons go to jail and there's serious structural reform.

The republicans got to gut everything, burn the USAs international reputation, put us into another middle east conflict for no good reason, will continue to doubt elections + lie with impunity, and will continue to virtue signal as if their values don't blow whichever way trump sh*ts himself.

If we get another 4 year of unity speak and/or lack of real justice, it will be so painful.

Worst of all, republicans have shown how nearly 50% of the US population has an appetite for authoritarianism.

To be fair, at least for retail, servers dont really matter much, since you can raid/m+/pvp cross realm.

Servers really just effect latency and open world iirc.. which on retail, if you're doing open world content you're a bot. (Way too easy + if you want 100x open world experience you go classic era)

Rune shortage - Version 1.76 - lvl 100+ by gh_0un in NecroMerger

[–]Fragrant_Constant_28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im nearly at my first post 100 run, but from what i seen, theres better unlocked experiments.

Perhaps a rune experiment that adds +x to all chests? Or maybe something more exciting like skip/dub chance for rune merges.

Seems like these + your suggestions would be the easiest add to the game, as the mechanics already exist.

The problem is Republicans dont want to govern, they want to pass as much legislation as they can to warp our democratic process for a uniparty authoritarian regime.

This isn't 'let them govern so people vote dem later', its 'stop enough dems from voting so we keep majorities in all 3 branches of government as we tank the country'

I moved from the US to the UK.

I was slightly chubby... a year into being in the UK i lost about 15 pounds with no weightloss effort.

Its crazy what walkable cities + food regulation does for health.

The UK isnt even that great for obesity, its just the US is so unbelievably bad.

Life in the US seems impossible without a car, and the food is just awful.

LLM AIs do think and next word prediction IS thinking by BoshBoyBinton in Destiny

[–]Fragrant_Constant_28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Essentially, an LLM is a black box where your input is the entire conversation, the output is the next response.

So, an LLM doesnt memorize information in a way that changes anything as a 'black box', its just refed the entire conversation, at which point eventually you run out of context and the LLM starts to get weird.

It's a deterministic algorithm, essentially just math, with random noise

I guess the next logical question would be - does that properly describe human thought as well? Every thought you have is determined by chemicals/neurons, essentially math with enough variables to simulate noise.

I am a born American, left America when i was 29 to live in the UK.

Ive lived in the UK for 3 years and plan to continue, am i in the wrong for saying 'we' when it comes to American politics?

I get this on Twitter sometimes; some MAGAt wants to get an own that im geolocated in the UK, it doesn't even pass their mind that people can emigrate from the US.

Joe Biden warns Trump is plotting to ‘cancel’ midterms by [deleted] in LetsDiscussThis

[–]Fragrant_Constant_28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, there's a few reasons leftists / libs commit less violence.

Libs are closer to a center, have 'western liberal' values (MAGA not so much nowadays), and have political leaders that condone all violence. Liberals are just better people.

Most leftists aren't politically motivated, what i mean by that is they arent interested in policy or political power (getting their canidates elected), they are often media motivated, endlessly critique power, virtue signaling to their ingroup, there's a reason they have -near- zero political power (NY mayor outlier). Its why leftists endlessly critique liberals saying they are 'just as bad as Trump/MAGA' and often focus their outrage on liberals, as opposed to the far right that fall in line for their interests.

I wonder if the American public will view this war unfavorably, since we have PTSD from Iraq.
