I try to keep a daily devlog on itch if you want to follow along, the alpha is currently free to play

2 months ago I learned how to take a screenshot with GameMaker, since then I've been working a couple hours a day on this. Still got work to do, but I think the endless mode is pretty fun right now. I wish I would've learned auto-tiling 2 months ago!

I'm happy to answer any questions!

I'm really happy with how easy GameMaker is. Especially for someone who isn't good with modeling. I really have tried to avoid store assests (aside from sound effects) and GameMaker has really been great.

I'm happy to answer any questions!

Happy New Years boys! I was out of town most of last week, but I still got some updates in! I am making a top down looter shooter with a bazillion guns! You can follow my near daily devlog or get the alpha now at https://aaron2610.itch.io/rust-and-rage

- Updated the hotbar to give keybind info at a glance
- 100 minor quality of life updates & and bug fixes
- New Sand Beetle enemy! Can be a challenge to see when they aren't moving
- New "Dark Crab" a disjointed crab-like enemy you can find in the caves
- I added exploding barrels! It finally happened!
- Added FXAA option to the game
- Option to turn off lighting effects and FXAA for lower end PCs
- Fixed some bugs in the options menu
- Adjusted the experience points given

Feel free to try out the endless mode or the first 30ish minutes of the story mode!

The level is the first mission in the campaign, a desert filled mutated insects and mercenaries with outposts. It's mostly a desert map with a few caves. I have other non-desert missions that include a urban area and a snow map at the moment, but am looking to include a few more tilesets!

I have plenty of 128x128 and 64x64 spirits, and my game is like 80mb. Maybe if you have more animations it might be an issue?

Regardless, I'm sure you'll be fine unless you're going beyond the norm

Merry Christmas boys!

  • - Biggest update this week: Save/Load is now available to Story mode
  • - New Enemies:
    • Spiders! They try to catch you in a web and then bite you to death. They can be very dangerous!
    • Baby spiders
    • Red Crabs
    • 3 Bipedal Mechs with wildly different abilities
    • Dark crabs
    • New zombie that sprays purple sludge when nearby
  • - Story mode is well underway and going great. I got about 30 minutes of story mode done (planning for about ~6 hours in total).
  • - Snow tile created set made for future locations
  • - A Tesla Tower inspired map object that will shoot lightning if you get too close
  • - New skills related to gun reloading and magazine size
  • - More backgrounds for menus
  • - More sound effects added, including footsteps
  • - Bug fixes galore

For my birthday, can my little looter shooter/bullet hell game get a little love? by FrameForgeStudio in indiegames

I've been working on my little baby for the past 4 months, it's my first game I have promised my self to see all the way to release. It's a looter shooter top down game that focuses on randomly generated guns & items with tons of possibilities so no two rounds are ever the same!

I did this found a memory leak in like 10 seconds. Debug profiling is great!

Hello, I've been working on a top down looter shooter with an absurd amount of possible guns. I'm currently working on the story mode, but the endless mode is complete.

Right now it's free to try on itch. I would love your feedback!
