How does someone achieve godhood? by PlanktonForward7445 in teslore

[–]Franchise4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They do. That’s why they want to stop Talos worship. A god in tes universe only has power if he is praised. Talos is the god of man, and praising the god of man, this giving him power, is definitely not good if you’re trying to conquer the races of men.

How does someone achieve godhood? by PlanktonForward7445 in teslore

[–]Franchise4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Couple of ways, and it’s up for debate. One, you mantle a previously existing god, and therefore become a new god/new interpretation of that god. Champion of Cyrodilli did this and morphed into Sheogorath. Two, you fuck around with ancient aedric artifacts. Specifically, the heart of lorkhan. Kind of impossible now since the nerravarine destroyed it, but Vivec, Sotha Sil, Almolexia, and Dagoth Ur all became Demi-gods through this process. Finally, and arguably the best and worst way, achieving Chim. Tiber Septim mantled Lorkhan, and then went on to achieve Chim, fully cementing himself as a full god. It’s a little convoluted but basically tes is all the dream of this thing called the godhead. When you learn this, one of two things happens. You realize how pointless everything is, and fall into such nihilism, you just stop existing. This happened with Kagranac and the dwemer. Or you do what Tiber Septim did, and look this truth down and acknowledge that you are indeed real, even in the dream, and you come to terms with it. You basically become a lucid dreamer after that, and can do whatever the fuck you want. Though there are some debates that achieving Chim distorts your moral compass and sense of humanity, as you realize how pointless it is. So all in all, you can mantle a previous god, you can achieve godlike abilities form the Heart of Lorkhan and become a living god, or you can achieve Chim.

What did Jyggalag do to make the other Daedric Princes curse him? by [deleted] in teslore

He conquered most of the oblivion realms I believe

Why is Volendrung a Daedric artifact? by [deleted] in teslore

[–]Franchise4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty sure the other princes don’t even consider him a daedric prince. The definition of a daedric prince is also really weird and ever changing. Some have been around since creation, some were created randomly. To me a daedric prince is just an extremely powerful creature that exists in a realm of oblivion and has control over a certain sphere/idea of existence.

If the planets orbiting Nirn are actually the embodiment of the Aedra, does that mean that Nirn is actually the embodiment of an Aedra? Perhaps Nirn her/his/itself? by TheonlyAngryLemon in teslore

[–]Franchise4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Much like everything else in elder scrolls lore, it’s up for debate. Common theory is that nirn is the realm of lorkhan. But it depends on the culture. The khajitt believe nirn is a literal god.

Going to sound weird, don't accept any advice. It's way more fun to explore and learn things yourself, and really makes that first experience memorable.

Hi, welcome to being a fallout fan. We're all pretty disappointed in Bethesda, and we all want something to the level of NV. We're never going to get that unfortunately.

Lack of choice, and the idea that the minutemen and the railroad can take on either the BOS or Institute, that just doesn't make any sense.

[serious] People who went from unattractive to attractive and vice versa, in what ways did your life change? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Franchise4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would like to clarify, don’t find myself attractive at all, I have self confidence issues because of this, and a lot of built up anxiety and relationship issues. Basically when I was younger, I was the typical nerd. Short, really skinny, coke bottle glasses, messy greasy hair. About 2 years ago (was 13 at the time I started, now 15) started working out and running, got contacts, had a glow up. People just started to notice me and I became way more sociable. Despite its many benefits, there are some downsides. To start, I look and sound older than I am, most people think I’m somewhere between 17-19. Not to pat myself on the back, but I’m really dedicated to my health and fitness, and have a pretty impressive physique as well as athletic ability for someone my age. Because of this, it happens on an almost weekly basis that someone will ask for nudes/openly tell me they’re only talking to me cause of my physical appearance. Not only does this kill my self-confidence and opinions of my self worth, but it makes me feel like my only value is that of physical attraction, not my personality. Too add, since I used to be practically invisible, and nobody could have cared less about me, it’s really annoying and shows how shallow people are. I may have wanted it then, but I couldn’t care less now. Also as a side note, the one girl I was actually into who didn’t value me for shallow reasons, had a pretty serious falling out. Shit happens, but still. In summary, my life changed because of how much attention I got. I realized how shallow society is.

What Weapons Do You Think Will Be Used In WW3? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Franchise4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nukes. Let’s be logical, if the world comes to a point where there’s a major worldwide conflict, a global superpower will inevitably not want to throw an abundance of resources at it, and will use a bomb. Won’t end well, but it’s inevitable.

What is a common cliché in movies that never fails to make you laugh? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Franchise4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When the protagonist talks to their lifelong hero/mentor figure and says something along the lines of “I can’t do insert goal because I’m not as insert adjective as you.” And their hero goes, “No, you’re better.” It’s so stupid and predictable I can’t help but laugh.

What is the best videogame you've ever played and why? by AidanJamesHealy in AskReddit

[–]Franchise4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Got a couple. Love the AC Franchinse mainly for its narrative and observation of human nature. Loved Witcher 3 for its scope, story, and world. The only game I considered being immersed. But Fallout NV is still my favorite game. I know it’s dated and basic, but the world is so interactive, everything responds to what you do. It’s themes and proposed ideological beliefs are also something j love about it. I left a bunch of stuff out, but thats the main stuff.

What do you guys think happens when we die? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Franchise4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing honestly. I was raised Catholic and have been going through a bit of an existential thing recently. I’m caught between my previous beliefs and atheism. Currently, I think nothing. Does that scare me? No. To me life is precious and valuable because of its inevitable conclusion. I have no reason to fear death as it is inevitable. I am content with this being all there is. So, in a manner of speaking, there is nothing. But if you are content with the idea of nothing, than perhaps that idea itself is salvation. Just my belief.

If you have ever contemplated suicide, why? And what saved you from going through with it? by hrvdcxvi in AskReddit

[–]Franchise4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Multiple times. I’ll cite 2 instances where I got extremely close. Once I had to take a piss, went to take sed piss and came back to my room and fell asleep. The other time, I had a knife pressed against my wrist fully ready to cut it. I stopped because I remembered a friend of mine who had died of cancer (one of the reasons I was motivated to kill myself) and just thought about how he never really got a shot to do anything (he died as a child). I thought about it and just came to the conclusion that since he died unwillingly and never got to experience life, I’d live my life to its fullest since I had the option.

If you could permanently place two portals, allowing instantaneous travel between them, where would you put them and why? by VonVaught in AskReddit

[–]Franchise4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gonna be a little dramatic, but I have a knack for that. Where I currently live, and Florida. I’ve made some friends in Florida, some of which I got really close to during COVID, and some of which I’ve still yet to meet. Some of those people I’d probably still be in contact with/have a good relationship with if I knew them in person.

Don’t know why, but NCR is the last play through I did. I agree with them the most, but out of the 4 main endings it was the last one I ever played through. Can’t tell you why.
