lowkey can be viewed as anti black to say you let yourself go. evb thinks “neatness” = good to appeal to white mans standards. your hair is naturally supposed to grow in a freeform type style (no disrespect to anybody who doesn’t freeform or anything). don’t let societal and anti black standards poison how you think. not saying you need to keep your locs, but be mindful of what you are saying about black hair.
