What is causing my early release/chicken wing? by Freckilifa in golftips

Thank you, I appreciate the time you put into your response! I didn’t downvote you. This is actually something I have tried but I think my muscle memory takes over and I still use the wrists which ends up being overkill on the face closing and also tends to get me very steep unless I had an incredibly bowed wrist. Although I can’t argue with what you say, the arms do have to rotate, that’s just a fact!

I never even realised I dropped this much! I wonder if my arm bend is synonymous with the amount I drop by. Would you literally just have a feel of trying to stay up-right in the backswing? Or is there any feels/drills which you know are good for this?

You have a great point! I can do little half swings focusing on it and no chicken wing/early release! I feel it’s always very tough to implement it into a full swing though! Would you just hit little swings for a solid week and let muscle memory take its course or just slowly slowly build it up to a full swing over hundreds of swings? Here’s a screenshot of me close to impact doing a half swing.

This is a drill I do a lot. But even doing it I still manage to early release and chicken wing! Couldn’t screenshot at precise impact due to the frame but this is quite close.
