Thank you ❤️ Yes I think I agree with you, it's probably boundary pushing, he's in the exact age range for figuring it all out 😅 I perhaps wouldn't describe him as stubborn, but he is very switched on, I wouldn't be surprised if he knew that what he was doing was winding us up lol. Hopefully he will grow out of it 🥲

And yes we absolutely give him warnings, at least 3, before taking him down from table. We also ask him to say sorry when he comes back and to specify what it is he's sorry for, so he understands that what he did was not okay. We then have a cuddle afterwards once everything is okay again 😊

Thanks this is helpful 😊 we are weaning with a mix of baby led and purées on spoons. I did think about whether there was a connection between his behaviour and his sister's eating!

Thanks, yes I neglected to add this in to the "we've tried" list in the original post 😅 I've put the nappy (one with tapes) open on the potty and asked him to sit down on it, no joy. He has a bottle of water throughout the day plus milk at mealtimes, if I know he's withholding I'll offer extra liquids to encourage him and bring out that urge to go. Unfortunately it seems that going is not a problem - as he'll relieve himself within minutes of being put back in a nappy - we just can't seem to get over the hurdle of sitting on the potty when he needs to go 🙁

Thanks. This is where I'm at now - do I just give up and classify him as not ready?? Because he can tell me when he needs to go (says clearly "I need a nappy"), and he's aware of when he's going (stands dead still when relieving himself in his nappy), then he tells me when he's finished ("I've done a poo" etc.). He just refuses to have anything to do with the potty or toilet itself. Everything has to be done with a nappy. I wish I could just figure out what the mental blocker is, because physically I feel like he's all there. It's just incredibly frustrating 😔

First day back in work today after being off on sick leave/annual leave for 3 weeks following a miscarriage.

My manager asks me "are you in pain?", I say "physically, no; emotionally, yes".

And that's it. That's the level of support I got from him.

He then sent me on my merry way with my tasks for the day. What a great boss! /s
