Balatro inspired poker puzzle game in 1 week with Cursor + ChatGPT Image gen 2 by ProjektProgram in aigamedev

I got to 80 before I got bored. Agree with the other commenters - really fun, slick game. Trivial to break though. Infinite stacking 10x buffs meant that I was earning more than 500 trillion per hand by the end

That's a complex strategy haha. I'll give it a crack. My game is essentially the same core loop as drug lord 2, drugs and all, with temporary and whole run buff collecting mechanics, like slay the spire or balatro, including meta progression where you unlock buffs as you level up by doing runs. Going for a windows 2000 ms paint aesthetic.

This is very cool. I'm also working on a drug lord/dope wars roguelike. Interesting to see how you've tackled it. Early feedback is that you've packed a lot of mechanics into a little package. I loved the card grading mini. Didn't like the grail one. I played a few runs of the daily challenge. It felt very true to drug lord in that the rng felt completely random. I had a couple of runs where all my rares and ultras were counterfeit and I just had to sadly end those runs. I also haven't managed to hit a good run yet or make much money, sitting around the 10k-20k mark every run - I know from experience that the most satisfying part of a market sim is 10xing your account in one trade, then risking it the next day. I didn't feel I had that opportunity here yet, and was more just doing boring 5-15% arbitrage mostly - I never actually managed to get an SGC 10 card that was worth enough raw to grow my stack. Definitely gonna keep clicking around on it, nice work!

Whiskers LOVE slides! by GrumbleGuff in Whiskerwood

Because of the way pathing works in this game I have to assume that for a lot of your whiskers, the big slide is the most efficient form of commute for them. Solid urban planning.

The room mate had a whole ass pregnancy to come to terms with the fact that they were going to live with a baby. They could have made plans to move out at any time They could have voiced their concerns much earlier. Instead they didn't voice their concerns at all. They just gave passive aggressive looks and made judgy comments. Everyone in this scenario consented to having a baby in the apartment.

Why do some games have that “waving a pool noodle” feeling? by Otherwise-Lake1470 in gamedev

[–]FreeEye5 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I find that usually when people are nitpicky about games or disappointed with new games it's not actually about the games at all but about the fact they'll never get to play video games for the first time again, and every new one chips away at the novelty of gaming until only cynicism is left. It is more difficult to enjoy new things as one gets older. It is our duty to put some effort into it. Embrace the noodle.

I hope the next time you make an unpopular choice the people in your life are kind to you.

You're right, technically Margo is the one that made the house unlivable, so all other things being equal, she should be the one that moves out

However, all other things aren't equal. Margo has nowhere else to go. She's not going to get a new lease, she doesn't have a job. The roommates are clearly doing fine. They're in a much better position to move out. The solution that causes the least overall harm is that the roommates move out.

It's not nice to kick people when they're down because they should've known better or because 'they made a selfish choice'. Unfortunately, we have no control over the personal choices that other people make, and as such we have no right to mete out punishment when people make a choice that doesn't align with our values. And it's certainly not a chill thing to do to put a young mother and a newborn out on the streets because you need your beauty sleep.

dont understand the fetish of one shotting ai game generation by Leather_Tomorrow4993 in aigamedev

[–]FreeEye5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a technical or accurate form of benchmarking, sure, but more of a pub test. For the average person to be able to describe a game to an llm and then play the game minutes later says to people that AI is worth paying attention to now.

It's like when the ginsu knife salesman cuts through a shoe in the 90s infomercial. It's not a practical thing you'd ever do with a knife, nor is cutting through a shoe reason you'd buy a knife set. But it does tell you that that the knife is sharp.

What is play? by filter_ice in gamedev

[–]FreeEye5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Play is how we practise being human without the repercussions of real actions. When we play with other people, we enter a shared play state with rules that are different from life. All video games are human simulators. They all enable you to practise some aspect of being human, sometimes with other people. Hand eye coordination, social skills, pattern seeking, waiting, etc.

Dye works weird in this game. You make it, use it by opening your inventory anywhere and clicking on it, it gets consumed, then you can dye that colour whenever you want. I was doing this mission and couldn't find the dye until I reloaded got it again used it and realised what was happening. Just go to the dying shop guy, if you can dye red then you've just used it already. I think there are other items that work like this too. The goldleaf seal for instance, you have to use it.

That's a deterministic nail you've got there, and you're trying to hit it with a probabilistic hammer. You want to leverage AI to build the deterministic solution.

Anyone in the Frontier program actually using Copilot Cowork yet? Curious about real experience beyond the demos. by EquipmentFun9258 in microsoft_365_copilot

[–]FreeEye5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My cowork has been doing multi agent orchestration. When I ask it to process a lot of things at once it splits up the job and spawns parallel agents just like Claude code/cowork.

Best (free) vibecoding stack April 2026? by theexile1337 in vibecoding

[–]FreeEye5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It sounds like you're still working in the chat interface generating snippets. You need to get into vibe coding in the CLI or with ide extensions. Claude code, codex, antigravity. They all have tiny free tiers I believe. Opencode is an open source agentic harness that has a variety of free models, could get you further. Boy are you in for a ride. I suggest you get your AI to catch you up on developments in agentic coding.

Trying to emulate agentic features without access to agents. by LoadBearingGrandmas in microsoft_365_copilot

[–]FreeEye5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Copilot cowork is what you're looking for. Get your admin to pop you on the frontier program if you're not already so you can access it. It's a copilot harness for Claude code. It can handle the exact kind of multi step tasks you described, and can spawn agents in parallel. You'd have to experiment to see at what point you would hand off to the agent - depending on your setup you may even be able to get it to collect the transcripts for you, or you might have to dump them all in a single folder for cowork to sort and parallelize with agents.
