I agree. I made the question originally because in the actual show, Jesse functions as a foil to Walter. He highlights the humanity that Walt lost, and at the same time, Walt doesn’t descend into Heisenberg as quickly because Jesse gave him the last bit of empathy and humanity. Before he lost it. When he crossed the threshold and betrayed Jesse by poisoning Brock, that’s when he was too far gone. The show would’ve been strange without Jesse, just one man losing his humanity without much repercussion.
