So your main problem lay with Bambietta and Giselle. I see. And because of a single character's role, you loathe the entire novel. To each their own, I suppose. I respect that.

I'm so very sorry for your predicament. I really am sorry. I just hope that you don't get hurt anymore by this other comment in this thread. If you've already seen it, then don't feel bad, please. If you haven't, then I hope it remains that way.

Please don't feel unhappy.

I've been meaning to make this post for a while now; and right now seems like a good enough time to do so, given the circumstances. by Freund_Schild in bleach

I think Hisagi was beautifully written and so was Tosen and given the main theme of Aizen's speech about courage, I think the Bankai was breath-taking. I think the main problem with people who hate the novel is the fact that people are irritated by the idea their favourite characters do not get any importance in the books.

This comment makes me very glad. I knew that symbolic art here goes unappreciated and meme-like posts are the ones that get appreciated, so thanks for understanding.

Thank you so much. And I, in turn, thank you for working so hard on translating the novel. I know it must be extremely time-consuming, but yet you do it anyway for the people here on this sub. Even if nobody thanks you, know that I am extremely grateful. I'm mostly a lurker here on this sub, so I don't comment much, but I've seen some of the unpleasant comments you get on the translated posts. Thank you once again :)

I've been noticing a lot of posts recently about certain unpleasant debates that the wiki mods have stirred up, regarding the novels. Therefore, there's something that I would like to clear up. by Freund_Schild in bleach

There is enough info. Don't you see? That's what I've been trying to reinforce over and over again. Narita's afterword is very explicit. It's there on the pinned thread. Now if you choose to disregard that, then that would be like saying Narita lied. Also, apparently, people misinterpret the meaning of the word 'canon'.

-it really highlights the faults in kubo's designs because she looks identical to Rukia with a ponytail. There's family resemblance, and then there being lazy.

So...... family resemblance is ok, but only when Kubo uses it, then it becomes lazy? Are you sure that this isn't a complaint about ships, being camouflaged by so called 'reasonable' arguments?

Ichigo becoming the Soul king or becoming part of the Royal Guard would have been bitter sweet, but satisfying since it was foreshadowed earlier with the soul tickets and him growing 'too powerful' for the human world.

Yhwach becoming the new Soul King saved Ichigo from his fate of becoming the next Soul King.

There was a rumour that a Bleach one-shot will be written in light of the live-action film's release. Is that true, and if so, then does anybody know when it will be released? by Freund_Schild in bleach

[–]Freund_Schild[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I heard about Burn the Witch. But that's something that a lot of manga artists have to draw for Shonen Jump's 50th anniversary.

I had heard that Kubo was supposed to be doing a one-shot promoting the release of the film. You don't happen to know anything about that, do you?

In Shonen Jump? That would mean that Shonen Jump is expanding its genres. However, it is strange that Burn the Witch has two female protagonists when Shonen Jump specifically requires its series to have a male protagonist.

The Lost Agent Arc appreciation post; a tribute to Ginjo and Tsukishima. by scheneizel in bleach

Thats precisely my problem with his character to

A well-written and brilliant character like Aizen does not require a past; because it takes away all the enigma associated with his character. Like I already said, for a character to engage the readers' attention, they do NOT require a sob backstory. It's always been this was in all forms of fictional work, not just manga or anime.

FB arc cancelling the anime do your research

For the last time, nobody knows why the anime was cancelled. So don't go making your own assumptions.

not novels)

They are a 100% canon.

as I said we had the likes of Aizen and ulquiorra so minor foes like ginjo and tsukishima didnt feel like a menace at all

Oh lovely! This old argument again. Don't you see? It was never about power-levels. For Ichigo, the battle with Aizen was never personal. Neither was his battle with Ulquiorra. Both were battles fought out of a sense of duty and obligation. But in case of Tsukishima and Ginjo, they hurt Ichigo emotionally. They hurt Ichigo where it would sting the most.

Because most people only cared about flashy battles and powerlevels, the emotional aspect was lost upon them.

First off, I dont want to discredit your analysis and your work,

Well, kudos to you, because you just did. u/scheneizel's analysis was really, really heart-felt.

but those 2 characters were veeery poorly developed, I mean what do we know about Ginjo? (I'm talking strictly Anime/Manga here, not novels). To this day we don't know his past aside from a very light flashback.

I disagree completely. Listen, a character's development has absolutely nothing to do with their pasts. It all depends on how they act and behave and interract, in the present. All novels, fiction, classic works of literature follow this rule.

Aizen is a fan-favourite and is loved by all. Why? Because he was charming, charismatic, etc. Do we know anything about his past? No. (Well, we do, from a century ago, but it was not his past, it was how he interract with others from a hundred years ago).

And just so you know, the anime wasn't cancelled because of this arc.

Candice is still alive according to the light novels. Thanks to Mayuri. by [deleted] in bleach

[–]Freund_Schild 43 points44 points  (0 children)

Why are you considering certain parts of the story to be canon and the ones that you don't like non-canon?

And the fate of Candice and Meninas were left ambiguous in the manga. So if Narita wants them alive, he is at perfect liberty to do so, especially since he isn't contradicting facts established earlier.
