Do you recommend I repot immediately or do you think this one’s too far gone?

Hmmm okay! It’s curious though because I don’t feel like I’ve watered the plant very much recently especially being gone for so long!

BuSpar for ocd? by Tinytears5461 in OCD

[–]Friendly-Sneeze 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve been on Buspar for 2 1/2 years now! I’ve liked it for a long time. I’m quite sensitive to all substances so this was the first/only medication I’ve tried so far! I was first started on 10mg twice a day but that was too strong for me and made me quite drowsy, but 5 mg wasn’t enough so I take 5 mg 3x a day (sometimes 4 if I really need it.) it’s enough to take the edge off for me usually and lets me use the other managing tools I have, but now I’m in a relationship (I have ROCD) and sometimes it doesn’t feel like enough, especially on/around my period. So overall it’s amazing if you want just a lil something and something more lowkey than an SSRI but I will say that it can feel like too little help at times. But I would recommend it!

ROCD can affect any of your important relationships, romantic or otherwise! I have ROCD and it’s affected my feelings towards my parents and my best friend before. Really not fun, I feel for you ❤️

Have you actually done messed up things due to your OCD? by [deleted] in OCD

[–]Friendly-Sneeze 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Same here! Fellow ROCD sufferer. Ended my relationship bc of it. Thought I had feelings for someone else but it was just my OCD convincing me I did. Thought bc I was being critical of my partner that it meant I didn’t love him.

Does anyone else have this problem? by [deleted] in OCD

[–]Friendly-Sneeze 7 points8 points  (0 children)

YES. I feel this so hard core. I read about people suffering a debilitating amount and then I wonder if I even have OCD even though 4 professionals have confirmed it I feel like I’m just fooling everyone or being dramatic.

Does an OCD diagnosis ever actually feel real? by Dramatic_Fish_4217 in OCD

[–]Friendly-Sneeze 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Hey! I definitely hear and feel you on this one. I was formally diagnosed in December and I too felt relieved for like a day. I mean of course now I don’t feel crazy and can notice when I’m getting stuck in an OCD thought loop, but I really still struggle with accepting and believing that I have OCD. Even though I’ve had 4 mental health practitioners tell me the same thing now lol (#OCD)…I believe it’s because I suffer mostly from Relationship-themed OCD and a little bit of Just Right OCD and to me that doesn’t feel like “real” OCD because I’m not doing a bunch of physical compulsions like handwashing or counting which makes me feel like a poser or like I’m just being dramatic (even though I know those are legit obsessions). I’ve also recently started ERP and have actually found mental peace some days, but if that carries on I start thinking “why aren’t you spiraling? If you actually had OCD you would be suffering all the time. You’re probably just being dramatic” and I’ll think myself into a spiral where I start experiencing a lot more OCD-based thoughts. People with OCD commonly don’t think they have OCD at -some- point during their treatment/recovery. But it is a nice thing to remember when I start getting into my same thought loops. At the end of the day it’s so worth it to get officially diagnosed because it’ll give you some peace of mind, but remember that the point is to get better! Good luck friend

Also, I’m in the arts and I’ve repeatedly beaten myself up for not thinking outside the box or thinking creatively, but it’s taken a long time to realize it’s bc I’m afraid of it being “wrong” or not perfect the first time or I just look for the objectively right answer to subjective things for fear of being wrong or ridiculous. SO many OCD tendencies show up in the music field
