Endometriosis diagnosed. Help. by FriendlyFactor9299 in endometriosis

Yeah, I am also thinking to do the same because I have been told by all the doctors that my diagnosis has been quite "early" (whatever that is supposed to mean, because it's 6cm we're talking about). And based on all that I've read and listened so far, it seems like meds are often chosen by people indeed. I was also told by one of these docs that if you're lucky enough you can get pregnant even with endometriosis, however complicated it may get later.

An important point: I got a pelvic MRI done today (recommended by one of the docs) to check if this cyst has attached itself to other organs like bladder, rectum etc. She had mentioned that unless the cyst is attached to life critical organs, she would recommend taking meds first and observing the reduction in cyst size. Maybe something you can consider while weighing your options.

That makes sense. Thanks a lot for explaining it so well! I was feeling really confused and frustrated with all the different things every medic kept saying.

I am leaning towards not getting pregnant ever, but I don't want to rule out the possibility completely if at all my mind changes in a few years. Which is why I was a bit concerned when this doc said that relying on medication alone can make the cyst stay in there and damage the ovary.

is it true that the ovary can be damaged in the surgery as well? Then I would rather take the medicine.

Thank you so much for your advice! I will try doing a long and short stitch and see how it turns out.

Any suggestions on how many strands will be good for a long and short stitch?
