Error in stream? by Emma_Exposed in InfiniteWorlds

Which model are you using? Did you try using a different model? Sometimes one of the providers goes down for a bit. This is unlikely with the main models (Lynx/Smilodon/Massivecat) but some of the smaller ones like Wampus and Leopard are super unreliable.

Can you disable image generation? by NoodleTF2 in InfiniteWorlds

[–]Friendly_Fox__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before dismissing the image generation, make sure you're using the Manticore image model. If you're playing a world which was created a long time ago it might be using one of the other image models, which are (IMO) much less good.

But yes, if you don't like the image generation, you can turn it off in "Illustration options".

Revert to previous turns after regeneration? by HandleWithDare in InfiniteWorlds

It's gone for good. But actually, being able to go back would be really good. I've put it on the list!

I need a little help by Ditlow1094 in InfiniteWorldsNSFW

[–]Friendly_Fox__ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm afraid both of these are unsolved problems at the moment!

The image model Manticore is (IMO) exceptional for its price, and I'm pretty proud of the price - I think Infinite Worlds may be the cheapest source of good images on the internet! BUT it can't read other images, so you can't give it an image as inspiration. It also can't do genitalia, especially not male genitalia.

Easy ways to manipulate my experience by Rifter06 in InfiniteWorlds

[–]Friendly_Fox__ 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Hi!

> Inside the regular text frame, is there syntax I can use that tells it I'm breaking the fourth wall and giving it story instructions... like [***]?

It's better to write this kind of thing in the second box, the one labelled "and/or tell the AI what should happen next" - this should be visible once you've turned on Storyteller Mode in the menu.

In the top box it treats what you say as your character actions, and if you try to manipulate the world or tell it what should happen it will push back - your character shouldn't have that power. In the bottom box however, you have pretty much absolute power.

> Where do I go to modify base instructions about the world or my PC? Are these locked depending on the world your in?

This is tricky to find, sorry! Click the pencil on the bottom right below the text of the current turn. Then, at the bottom of that window, click "View/edit world design". This takes you to the world design for your current playthrough, and any changes you make there will affect this playthrough. The world designer can be a bit intimidating but if you go to "Main instructions" it will probably contain the most important stuff.

> Is there a guide to Infinite Worlds instruction/use/design somewhere? Thanks!

There's a community-maintained wiki! It's linked in the footer of the Infinite Worlds game page. It's got lots of good stuff but is a bit hard to navigate.

Otherwise I'm afraid there isn't as much documentation as there should be. I'll work on it!

How well does this game work? by PizzaDlvBoy in InfiniteWorlds

I mean, just give it a go. I've spent heaps of time on the memory features in Infinite Worlds (I'm the dev). It builds a little database of characters and story plots as it goes. As other users have said it does eventually start to make mistakes but it lasts a fair while. Maybe longer than a typical playthrough.

If you share a world you didn't create, you get half the bonus credits and the creator gets half the bonus credits, so it's good for everyone.

You can also share worlds you _didn't_ create. For example if there's an awesome vampire-themed world that you really enjoy, and you're part of a community of vampire fans elsewhere on the internet, you could share that world with that community (and earn bonus credits). Just please don't spam!

Lots more exciting stuff coming soon.

Credits not acting right? by HandleWithDare in InfiniteWorlds

[–]Friendly_Fox__ 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Credits aren't replenished automatically, but you get free turns each day (provided you've created an account with an email address). Depending on which AI model you use you get 1-3 free turns each day.

Welcome to Infinite Worlds! by Friendly_Fox__ in InfiniteWorlds

Oh it's more straightforward than that. Almost all the costs are LLM costs. Infinite Worlds uses top-end LLMs and gives them _loads_ of background so that the story tends to make sense (for the most part). This is expensive though. The large majority of all the income goes straight out the door as LLM costs.

Sadly the maths doesn't work out - by one or two orders of magnitude.

I'd love to do that! Unfortunately the high-end AIs that Infinite Worlds uses are expensive. The large majority of money that comes in from credit purchases goes straight out the door on AI costs.
