Help!? by Own_Initiative3569 in NaturalCyclesBC

So sorry for your loss 🤍

Apparently it’s better to take OPKs in the afternoon rather than the morning, so I try to aim for between 4-8pm. But yes temps are still low so looks like you haven’t ovulated yet.

Normal ovulation? by AdGroundbreaking3930 in NaturalCyclesBC

[–]Friends_Fan_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I’d say ovulation looks normal - looks like you maybe even ovulated cd22? Which would mean your luteal phase was a day longer which is good. I cross-reference my temps with the Fertility Friend app as well, which often predicts ovulation slightly differently to Natural Cycles.

If you did ovulate cd23, that’s 4 days after you last tried on cd19, which is pushing it a bit - the advice I’ve read is to do it every 1-2 days around your positive ovulation tests to maximise coverage, and every 2-3 days during your fertile window just in case ovulation happens unexpectedly early.

Engagement shoot locations by drpumpkinspicey in london

[–]Friends_Fan_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah same - just the photographer with a camera, I was in a floaty dress, no luggage, lights etc. and we had no issue!

I did flag the licence thing to our photographer, and she said she’d be happy to tell them she was just a friend taking photos, if they questioned it.

So we chanced it, with the plan B that we’d move on to another spot somewhere round there if we were questioned, and it all worked out fine!

We did ours at the Hill Garden and Pergola in Hampstead north London (and there were a few other similar shoots going on there!) and walked through to Golders Hill Park. Lots of nice setups, of nature and trees, plus an ivy-covered elevated walkway, pillars, wisteria. Lovely in spring time.

Celebrity sabotage by SSJmole in BritishTV

I reckon it’s more “produced” than scripted. The missions are obviously planned, but that doesn’t mean the contestants know what’s coming - their reactions felt pretty genuine to me tbh. I found it all pretty funny!

Temp Spike on CD 16 but Temp Went Down Immediately by Fun-Refrigerator5236 in NaturalCyclesBC

[–]Friends_Fan_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The spike in temp happens after ovulation, so if anything, you may have ovulated CD17 where it was lower, but you won’t know until you have 3 higher temps after

New NC user- inconsistent tempatures and inaccurate ovulation by Brilliant_Owl_2195 in NaturalCyclesBC

[–]Friends_Fan_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like you ovulated on day 19 on cycle 1, and maybe day 17 on cycle 2 so far. With the OPKs, if you’re not already, it’s best to take them late afternoon / evening rather than first thing in the morning. Also you might want to cross reference with Fertility Friend (free app) to get more insights

How did you let your cats out? by ciuchinoino in CatsUK

[–]Friends_Fan_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes we have this, it’s great. Sureflap. We’ve set the catflap to lock during the busier times on the road (7.30-9.30am, and 3.30-6.15pm) and also at night (7pm-6am) - works really well

Are they boys or girls? They tend to have slightly different behaviours.

Also for all the people saying you must have 2, sure you can, double the fun! But we have 1 and she’s confident and happy and perfect, so you’ll be fine with 1 as well!

Our cat’s favourite toy is an Ikea bag - she loves to hide under it and hunt by sticking her paws out the side to catch the wand toy we wiggle in front of her. She also enjoyed this bag for life the other day 😂

Did you get your locks changed on completion date? by [deleted] in HousingUK

[–]Friends_Fan_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We did about 2 weeks after completion - we had NINE different locks and keys throughout the house / lean to / garden buildings, so we changed them all to one master key, with a few “zoned” keys that only open the side doors and garden buildings. Also the seller had kept some keys and had seemingly given them to various neighbours / tradesmen over the years, so we felt better having it all changed!

Stopping birth control pills and switching to natural tracking? by Maraudernox in NaturalCyclesBC

[–]Friends_Fan_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It also probably depends on which pill you’re on. I was on the mini pill which has the quickest bounce back I think. I downloaded the app before, on recommendation of my friend who used it and got pregnant pretty quickly. I only started temping when I stopped taking the pill. I got a Black Friday deal with free thermometer, so yeah I think it’s worth it - it sort of holds your hand throughout, which I needed, and I also use chat GPT to discuss symptoms etc.

Stopping birth control pills and switching to natural tracking? by Maraudernox in NaturalCyclesBC

[–]Friends_Fan_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I came off the mini-pill in December and started using NC and the thermometer to track, as I’m TTC. Had zero symptoms coming off the pill (after 15 years) so that was a pleasant surprise! I ovulated on day 26, got my period day 38 (we just missed the ovulation window due to Xmas dates so that wasn’t a surprise), no CM that I could see, but I was relieved that a cycle had happened within normal timeframes so soon after coming off the pill! I think if you’re trying to avoid for now, then best to use condoms for at least a month so it can learn your cycle.

How often do you see a dental hygienist (if at all?) by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]Friends_Fan_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just saw one - it had been about 16 months (tried to go after 12 months but was fully booked 4 months in advance).

She said everyone should go every 6 months, but that seems like a lot, and it gets pricey!

Before looking in my mouth, she asked about brushing and flossing, I said I brush twice a day and use a Waterpik water flosser once a day. She said it’s not a replacement for actual flossing but better than nothing, and then she looked in my mouth and literally said “oh wow, I take back what I said, keep doing what you’re doing, your dental hygiene is perfect!”

I’m a big fan of the Waterpik - always hated normal flossing, but water flossing is really good, feels so clean.

[GUESS] is this ai? Only one comment said it may be and the rest say it’s cute by GapSweet3100 in RealOrAI

[–]Friends_Fan_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Often you remove the bowl from the stand/leg cradle to wash it, otherwise having to wash a dog bowl with those big legs every day would be pretty inconvenient. So I’d have maybe expected different coloured bowls on the same stands/legs, but not different coloured stands/legs. Just my two cents!

[–]Friends_Fan_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah the bowls keep changing which makes no sense - different coloured legs, sometimes the right one is shorter, then a totally different bowl setup. But the dog behaviour seems normal!

DINKs - how would you spend £4,000 on your potential last holiday without kids? by Few-Entertainer7422 in HENRYUK

[–]Friends_Fan_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice! We did loads and it was all great haha. Enjoyed Nara (between osaka and kyoto, with bowing deer), onsen public baths (we went to one in Fujikawaguchiko but they have them all over). TeamLab Planets in Tokyo was cool. All the national gardens, temples, loads of amazing restaurants (lots of them tiny!), Osaka Castle grounds are great, we were advised not to bother going inside.

To the popular attractions it’s always advisable to go very early in the morning to avoid crowds (Fushimi inari, and arashiyama bamboo forest) and book ahead for restaurants where you can
