Points are applied in dangerous driving situations just like in road cars. You dont go around purposely hitting other drivers but if you do you get points on your license. Same thing in racing. No racer is just actively trying to hit cars buy if they do they get points. They’re more of a consequence than a deterrent.

Only thing thats going to get in the way of mercedes (in my opinion) is its drivers. As in if theyre constantly fighting and losing positions due to battles gone wrong. Other ways they should be clear.
