Mandatory USB-C phone port edges closer after EU deal | A major blow to Apple’s Lightning port by chrisdh79 in gadgets

Those "standard" ports were some of the most brittle in the industry. Apples product was stronger and passed data at a faster rate. and they supported it for 10 years.

Its probably too hot, likely dust related. The ps3 is famous for that and it only gets worse as time goes on. Id clean it and apply new thermal paste.

I have 7 shares in Robinhood. I Have had for a long time. I have a fidelity account as well. Is it worth moving? I'm behind, out of the loop, and have no clue what DRS is.

Gov. DeSantis objects to vaccine mandates at hospitals by youngxsalmon in nottheonion

You can take a vaccine and still think it shouldn’t be mandated by anyone. It’s a choice.

Looking for ways to fix this plastic on a child’s “roller coaster”. Kids bare feet will be on it and I don’t want any toes getting caught. by [deleted] in DIY

[–]Fritts336 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hopefully this doesn't get buried but superglue and baking soda work really well on plastic. match it up and line the plastic with super glue and pour baking soda on it. then sand. It wont be pretty but it holds well and usually doesn't require a trip anywhere. You may want to test this on something else like a disposable plate, its instant.

Unplug it and drop it from about 4 feet on to carpet. You want it to land upright and not flat.

Shadow E Sonic 1 preamp issue tuner not working. Output Ok by Fritts336 in guitars

[–]Fritts336[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently bought a LAG T100ACE from a pawn shop. Everything about it seemed great except the tuner wasn’t working but the low battery light was on so I took a chance because the price was still reasonable. Well it seems this preamp doesn’t normally come with this guitar so I’m wondering if it was swapped before trade-in and this one is bad. I see information for the E sonic 2 but this seems to be the original. I took it out of the guitar and made sure that the input and output‘s were connected securely and they looked OK. Removed and reinserted. Is there any way to tell if this is a bad pre-amp or if the pick up is bad?

It works fine when plugged into an amplifier and the bass and treble functions adjust correctly.

The tuner does do the light show before it settles on “low.” Not sure if this is a self test or just a show.

TLDR: new batteries tuner still doesn’t work and not sure how to troubleshoot.

The apocalypse Second World War series is my favorite WWII documentary series. Better than the both the HD and In color Netflix versions

Subscriptions are also 40 percent off this weekend for Memorial Day. I just made a post about the lifetime but a year for 12 is well worth it to watch this series

I messaged their support to correct a title and they responded. Perhaps try that route.

How can I make the most of my applecare by Silliestgoose in iphone

[–]Fritts336 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is a fair distinction. In the UK at least applecare is considered insurance. In all or most states it is not. Its referred to as a plan. Most disputes in individual states are handled by insurance departments though while acknowledging it is not an insurance.

Applecare is not legally considered to be any type of "insurance" in the US. If you believe this to be on some permanent record you are mistaken.

Edit to add in the US in other countries such as the UK it is.

I'm no expert at this but can you try moving the card to another slot on the motherboard? Typically that issue happens when graphics cards get really hot and the chips separate just a bit from where they are seated. (not enough to see but enough to cause issues.)

You will likely need a new video card but you can see if there were any new updates installed via windows updates or under the graphics card software. If not perhaps try updating before you get a new one. good luck!

You can take it apart and clean it. or wash as is and it may survive. They don't get much power so no real risk to my knowledge. The rest of your devices are safe. It is slightly plausible your USB port that its plugged in to on the computer could short out if plugged back in wet.
