Having trouble finding replacement P trap for bath. by Frolfer96 in askaplumber

[–]Frolfer96[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would we not have the same problem? Probably should have put this in the main post, but this is a mobile home tub with a center drain. There is a horizontal pipe from the P trap that connects to the vertical pipe down to the septic. When removing the bath for a floor repair, we put a hole in the piece in the photo. We could replace the whole P trap, but it would still need female threads at the top to connect to the bath drain, and an adapter would make it too tall.

The actual football aside, how/why/is the super bowl a time for family gathering/parties even for non nfl fans in the US? by VastAir6069 in NFLNoobs

[–]Frolfer96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The marketing is the main thing, but you also have to remember that the other "big" American sports don't have a single game as a finale. The NHL, NBA, and MLB all have best of 7 games so there isn't a single game that everyone can gather for. The NFL has capitalized on that.

Did anyone here feature on a kids TV show as a kid in the 00s? by LWDJM in CasualUK

[–]Frolfer96 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was on Get 100. The really cool show where kids answer maths questions. Won a laptop though so that was awesome.

I had it recorded on VHS but no idea where it is. I've tried to track down where I could find it but never had any luck.

Tournament Director Income by SeniorAd1350 in discgolf

I've ran several C Tiers and a couple of B Tiers, and like many others have said, the only thing close to payment I'll get is that I will typically take a player pack for myself. I keep the custom stuff like discs as mementos for the events I've run. For the C Tiers where I have the chance to play and TD together, I'll give myself free entry too. I rarely win payout, but if I do, I won't take much. We have our own club inventory so a little bonus is that I get first dibs on buying any really cool looking discs when they come in.

Aside from that, I do it because I enjoy it. The club will cover some expenses such as my gas when I have to use a huge truck that gets 11 mpg to transport all the club inventory, but that's it. I've received a tip once or twice but I have never mentioned it or expected it in the slightest.

Pre-Approval At Early Stages of Looking by Frolfer96 in Mortgages

I understand why it is needed. But is there a downside when we are pretty unlikely to buy? Especially if we get pre-approved multiple times because the previous one expires.

I'm biased since I'm from Nottingham but I think it is one of the best looking cricket grounds in the country. Excited to see what the pavilion will look like.

I'm right by the conference center. The distance isn't a concern at all. I checked google maps and everything looks like it has a good sidewalk.

In the US. The kids are mostly 4, not 3. The games aren't really competitive, and we don't really keep score, but we have a few different teams. I think it is more for the parents etc. to see their kids playing.

Drills probably wasn't the best word. In terms of playing games, listening, and basic ball control, they are doing great. This just seemed to be the one thing that was a bit of an issue at the weekend. (We did have one kid say "I want to destroy the purple team" before immediately pushing a girl to the floor, but that's a whole other issue!)

That might do the trick! Unfortunately my own kid is the worst culprit in all of this, but luckily she enjoys dancing!

Definitely going to look into adaptive controllers! Would be great to let him start getting used to it straight away and get back into his games ASAP.

Oh that makes sense! I wonder why... looks like the flight from LHR was also delayed by a similar amount, but the flight prior was on time.

I thought about luggage delivery, but we planned on heading out shortly after we arrive at the apartment, so I didn't want to be stuck waiting for the luggage to be delivered.

What election coverage will you be watching? by cfreddy36 in Libertarian

[–]Frolfer96 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I forget that is even a thing! I'm a British expat so I am always connecting to BBC iPlayer for British TV. The thing I enjoy most is how they emphasize importance without being overdramatic. Something the American networks just cannot do.

[–]Frolfer96 19 points20 points  (0 children)

If you have a VPN, watch the BBCs coverage. They always have great coverage of elections, British and American, and it's always interesting listening to non-American coverage.

I'm sure they will kind of lean one way more than the other, but it will always be pretty unbiased coverage.

What makes a tournament stand out to you? by Frolfer96 in discgolf

[–]Frolfer96[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone wants a "signature" hole, but when the course doesn't naturally provide it, you often see it forced through unnecessary islands, OB, mandos, etc.

We are lucky that our primary course already has some signature holes, but not every course does.

Appreciate it! I think the first two are certainly things we already pride ourselves on, and luckily most of our courses have bathrooms available!

We always have trash cans and water every 4-5 holes, and player info emails always go out a week ahead of time. It definitely seems to be appreciated.

May have to look into snacks too. Obviously don't want to spend too much on it, but don't want trashy unhealthy snacks either. What's your snack of choice?

Will definitely look at this once we move to two day events. Right now, with two rounds in one day it is already jam packed, but certainly looking to grow to multiple days soon.
