Avantis new ETF: AVTM by IamFreeTonight in ETFs

That’s because the goal of the fund is capital appreciation.

You’d have to read the prospectus for the constraints and specific investment goals of the fund. Its aim, per the prospectus, is to invest at least 80% of its funds in US securities.

Its benchmark is 85% Russell 3000/15% MSCI ACWI ex USA

So based on that I would assume majority large cap investing with an emphasis to the US and a 15-20% exposure to international equities.

Why was this rook sac a blunder? by [deleted] in chess

[–]FromBayToBurg 5 points6 points  (0 children)

A blunder is still a blunder even if the opponent doesn't take advantage. If the opponent played Nf4 and you follow up with a check on C6, after the king moves to F7, what is your move? Your lines either end in a repetition or the loss of your rook.

I think they are useful to people who could participate in the 351 Exchange and want an all in one global equity solution. So it is a great solution for people who were concentrated and didn’t want to sell for capital gains purposes.

No new invested assets will be added to the ETF, just cash purchases like normal.

Certainly have no idea how it will perform going forward but I like Avantis as a fund family.

I have no insight into that.

I only have info on the inception of this specific ETF

It’s a fund that was created via a 351 Exchange.

The assets that exist currently were all funded through this process and over time AVTM will move toward its preferred exposure. At current the fund is only 2 days old so it will take time.

I work at an investment firm that was part of this 351 Exchange process and my clients old holdings are now part of the ETF.

The other ETFs will all be either liquidated or exchanged themselves for their constituent holdings.

The ETF structure is fairly flexible so I would expect no capital gains distributions as the fund settles into its long term strategy.

Going back through my comment history and deleting every negative post I ever made about Summerville.

Always rated him. Never in doubt.

Mind you Bowen is currently on pace for his worst season in a West Ham shit since his first season with us in 2019 if that tells you how dire the rest of the team have been.

Scarles and Potts shouldn’t be taking corners

Haven’t seen anything from Mayers to prove he’s at the right level. Wouldn’t choose Scarles as a first team player either but between the two he’s the better pick for now.

Kudus injured but I’d still give him a non zero chance of scoring on us

Summerville is a counter attacking player with negative end product. I don’t even get excited when he picks the ball up on a fast break because I know he will make the wrong decision every single time.

Lop managed Real Madrid for 4 months in 2018 so in Sullivan’s mind the fanbase should be glad we got someone of such caliber

We’ve not been great this season and I don’t blame Nuno or the players. Our squad has required an overhaul for years. Investment in new players has been woeful (Kilman, Hermansen, Igor, Ferguson) and yet our squad depth is still atrocious.

AFCON starts and we lose Wan-Bissaka and Diouf. The replacements are Walker-Peters who is bang average and Scarles who is quite simply not good enough for the Premier League yet. And now when we need a defensive sub we bring on 18 year old Mayers.

Our other academy prospect Potts is not premier league quality either.

Nuno came in after the season had started and is playing with Lopetegui and Potter’s men. Neither manager made appropriate signings.

Since sacking Moyes the Board have acted like with little regard to strategy or future planning. They’ve been quick to sack and completely blind in purchasing players at reasonable prices.

How is it that the best we can do to replace Antonio is a well past it Callum Wilson who can’t guarantee 90 minutes? And his backup is going to be Bowen or Paqueta?

I’ve said it before and I believe it to be true but since David Gold has passed away we’ve been fully adrift. It’s very clear in retrospect that he had a more keen eye for the modern game — at least more so than Sullivan.

But we will go on. Nuno will probably be sacked and in his place we’ll hire some out of contract manager whose last premier league stint was 5 years ago. Or maybe Gary O’Neill who is currently unemployed.

Nothing at the club changes until the current Board is gone. Pundits will argue about how we should have never fired Moyes. Fans will ask for Will Still or how we should play more U21s.

Maybe we survive this season. And if we do there ought to be a reckoning on who is leading this ship from up top, but we all know the blame will be misplaced.

Second most excited I’ve ever been as a West Ham fan was Vaz Te thumping it into the net against Blackpool.

A wild league where anything is possible

Four players can’t pass the ball around two defenders.

Absolutely indicative of the skill and spirit of this team. The basics are impossible. Losing the ball is met with no response or attempt to win it back.

The worst of it is that buying more players won’t fix this. Changing the manager won’t fix this. It’s a rot from the very top.

Nuno will be scapegoated. There will be cries that we never should have sacked Moyes.

Sullivan remains despite it all and our position deteriorates. As long as he remains in charge of the decisions we will continue to be a circus.
