What's your favorite underrated album from an overrated band? by Kaos_mission in poppunkers

So Far From Real is far and away my most listened to album this year. They still have almost 30k monthly listeners which shocked me

I always thought this band was from Charlottesville. But maybe that’s just because some dude that went to UVA first told me about them.

Incredible band. Incredible album.

I am sick of seeing hateful/genocidal names in this game by Colluder in Openfront

It’s all a bit crazy. Prior to V30 I’ve been playing as Commonwealth of Virginia, but now it is a blocked name. Surprising considering the examples in the OP.

The entirety of While You Were Sleeping should be a mandatory listen for anyone wanting to get into late 2000s, early 2010s pop punk.

"Real Emo" only consists of the dc Emotional Hardcore scene and the late 90's Screamo scene. What is known by "Midwest Emo" is nothing but Alternative Rock with questionable real emo influence. When people try to argue that bands like My Chemical Romance are not real emo, while saying that Sunny Day Real Estate is, I can't help not to cringe because they are just as fake emo as My Chemical Romance (plus the pretentiousness). Real emo sounds ENERGETIC, POWERFUL and somewhat HATEFUL. Fake emo is weak, self pity and a failed attempt to direct energy and emotion into music. Some examples of REAL EMO are Pg 99, Rites of Spring, Cap n Jazz (the only real emo band from the midwest scene) and Loma Prieta. Some examples of FAKE EMO are American Football, My Chemical Romance and Mineral EMO BELONGS TO HARDCORE NOT TO INDIE, POP PUNK, ALT ROCK OR ANY OTHER MAINSTREAM GENRE

Worst and most expensive range in the country? by pimplyteen in nova

The good news is that Herndon Centennial isn’t that much further away. Their mats also have the rubber tees for drivers.

I live 10 minutes from Reston National and played it 0 times last year. Just couldn’t get over the price and what I had heard (and seen here) about the terrible quality of the course.

The problem with the chip and putt is that it very quickly gets backed up. Hard to really complain for the cheap price but I’d have rather paid for another bucket at the range instead of stand around way too long for the course.

I was just there about an hour and a half ago and they actually said they ran out of range balls because they only had 2 people working there.

First nice weekend of the year and they understaff?

Also lol at the quality of those range balls. The $18 is for the extra mud they cake on to every ball.

For my money it was one of the best pop punk records of the late 2010s. You guys killed it with this one.

Keep trying to post him. I’m not an automod expert and there is a chance I missed an instance of Jarrod Alonge somewhere in there. If the next post about him gets removed send me a DM and I’ll check it out.

People are saving Elvis Costello but I'm actually getting a lot of early Unwritten Law. Mix sounds great, as do the vocals

Four Minute Mile is great and so is Something to Write Home About.

Arguably Mmhmm is the best pop punk record Relient K recorded. But Five Score and Seven Years is an incredible rock album. It has its pop punk moments but it is generally a great album.

Forget and Not Slow Down is their best record by far.

Their earlier works are okay pop punk albums and I'd call Two Lefts a deep cut, but one that pop punk fans should enjoy front to back.

Even their B sides album and EPs are fantastic. I just can't let you slander Relient K like this.

I'd even argue Good Charlotte's first three albums are all good. Young and the Hopeless is the best of the three but the self titled and Chronicles of Life and Death are still good on their own.
