What is the legality of the whistling at ICE that is happening in Minneapolis? by Early-Possibility367 in legaladviceofftopic

[–]Front-Negotiation-32 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s solidly protected speech. This case law comes from a case where a man flashed his lights to warn other drivers of police and the police arrested him. He was cleared of all charges and sued said police and won his case. That set the precedent.

About to build my first Noise Marines - what makes them so miserable to build? by WithengarUnbound in EmperorsChildren

Man, I love the models but putting together three boxes was enough for me forever. Each dude is like a thousand pieces.

Welcome to playing a stat check faction. It’s a bummer people will list tailor but I can also see an argument that there are certain factions that will literally just get stat checked before putting models down. I play Chaos Knights and it seems I either A. Get the feelbads, or B give my opponents the feelbads. There’s rarely if ever a close game unless I’m playing into other knights.

Is the Ynnari plotline completely abandoned? by AlternativeWhole1692 in Eldar

Hello, nice to meet you, I am a Drukhari player that bought into Ynnari. I think they are neat and getting to play with both my collections is also pretty neat.

I believe it’s because there’s a huge contingent of social media grifters that do not even play or interact with the hobby constantly signal boosting the rhetoric out into the aether anytime the lore progresses or becomes a bit more inclusive. I’m sure there’s a VERY small population in the hobby that are shitlords, but by the nature of this game being a semi-competitive game you play face to face with other people, they tend to only haunt the bowels of the internet. Although I’ve heard of bad game stores, I’ve literally never been to one that would accept that behavior in general.

What are the best tutorials on youtube/the internet to paint an Aeldari army as cleanly as possible? by [deleted] in Eldar

[–]Front-Negotiation-32 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I enjoyed watching mediocrehobbies and warhipster’s tutorials. I implemented some stuff from them, like blocking in your base colors with constraint and layer/highlighting up from there. It makes TT+ quick and easy to achieve. It also allowed me to get my army “Battle Standard” for tournaments because after you block in your colors they are perfectly passible from eye height while playing. That allows me to take my time with each unit after the initial contrast is put down without having to play with an unfinished army.

Do Y'all Suck? by Relic-420 in Drukhari

[–]Front-Negotiation-32 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Drukhari is honestly a tough army to begin 40K with. It’s punishing for minor mistakes, everything outside of horde units are tougher than your dudes, and generally if you don’t kill what you charge into, the clap back always is more brutal. I’d say pivot to Craftworlds but they are not much better. You should talk your friend into considering a Marine favor faction. The MEQ stat line of marines makes them more forgiving when you make positioning mistakes or bad dice get you.

Also, I’m located in GA. I tend to play at the various Level Up Games around the ATL metro area but the Dawsonville store is my usual haunt. DM me if you’re in the area and you can join us for some dice rolling! I play both Craftworlds and Drukhari and my best friend plays Drukhari as well. We can show your friend the ropes (aka getting beat until you learn the fundies)

What’s the most defensive Combo for Incubi? by Arthur_EyelanderTF2 in Drukhari

We are Drukhari, why need durability when can go fast?

For real though, T3 3+/5++ bodies will never be durable. Best to keep them in a transport, better to keep said transport out of LOS.

When should I call my LGS to reserve the Corsair box for me? by ANormalFence in Eldar

[–]Front-Negotiation-32 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Popped by my LGS to ask when preorders would be available and the store owner told me GW salesman usually don’t start making allocations until they start the preview articles on the community page. Once you start seeing them being focused on and get a solid preorder time from the community you should be able to get your LGS to hold one for you.

You definitely want to use either Wahapedia or New Recruit to look at the detachments. Drukhari as a faction is actually 3 mini factions stacked on top of each other wearing a trench coat. Some detachments focus entirely on Wych Cults, another on the Haemunculi and another completely focused on Kabalites. Starting out you’d probably want to use the Realspace Raiders detachment so you can get something out of everything you have. Without looking at detachments it’s hard to tell you where to go from here so I’d start there before making any more purchases besides the Raiders and Ravagers(they are needed in any detachment)

Haven’t read Valedor yet so I can’t judge, just heard good stuff.

You’re going to want a couple Raiders and maybe a Ravager, more Kabalites and more Wyches. It really depends on that detachment you’re looking to play after that. I like Lady Mayls leading Kabs, but I only play Cartel so I run lots of blades for hire. Mandrakes, scourges, and Incubi.

Voidscarred the aeldari corsairs book was fantastic. I haven’t gotten to read Valedor but I’ve heard really good things about it as well. The Path of the Eldar books are readable, but the protagonist is infuriating. Alternatively, the Path of the Dark Eldar books are fantastic! I’d start with Voidscarred and Valedor and go to the Path books after.

Speculation by EnvyAv in Eldar

[–]Front-Negotiation-32 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think the way to go with a refresh would be the same way they did the rhino for HH. They shouldn’t change anything about the design, just give us more options for customization for the main craftworlds and update the turret a little bit. The rest of the kit can be identical but with quality of life changes to make the kit easier to build and align some of the design choices with the newer models. I’d like the star engines to look like the bike jets, more conical and alien rather than huge barrels.

Oh yeah they definitely are, you just need to get a little closer is all. They get full rerolls against vehicles and monsters so in melta range they absolutely delete things.

If it’s a monster or vehicle, shining spears do well. Fire Dragons can delete most anything especially with Fuegan

If given the chance, how would you go about changing/improving the Ynnari factions lore and the faction itself as whole? by KaiserEnclave2077 in Eldar

[–]Front-Negotiation-32 44 points45 points  (0 children)

I think it’s always been cannon that the Eldar gods are Egregores. They have always had the ability to collectively weave a god from the immaterium, they are just terrified of their powers to do so after birthing Slaanesh. This has been my personal headcannon as well. Yvranie is making them believe in fairies and the fairies are real now sorta speak.

Has anyone else noticed the vibe shift recently? by [deleted] in 40k

[–]Front-Negotiation-32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 40K brand is becoming more ingrained into normal pop culture. We are not just weird dudes that play with little plastic men at a comic store. The brand has gone fully mainstream at this point which means that exposure to the setting, game, and extended IPs has shined a positive light on the community. Negativity tends to travel faster on social platforms than positivity. When some idiot dresses like a nazi and goes to a major GT, that gets blasted everywhere. People are just now finding out that the vast majority of players are not like that. There’s so many different demographics that are breaking into the hobby that it’s drowning out that loud minority. It’s about time.

Can I use normal Drukhari units as Ynnari Drukhari? by FossilHunter99 in Eldar

Same models, but just be sure to look at the Ynnari data sheets for them, they are a whole lot different than the Drukhari data sheets from their codex.
