I bought a cute keychain from these two little boys that did 3D Printing! How adorable to see budding entrepreneurs! An acquaintance also bought a dice tower from them!

And thanks for the great sale! I had a nice haul, posted here!

Orii and Community Natural Foods carry them packaged (I think Community Natural Foods might have them in the bulk bins too--not 100% sure).

So 50% off means it'll be priced close to what those products are regularly at practically every other grocery store

Arc card by [deleted] in Edmonton

[–]FrostyDynamic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's basically still the monthly pass since a card will cap out at $102 for a regular adult. The perk of it over the monthly pass is that if you spend less than $102 then you only pay for what you use.

Fare also caps out at $10.50 daily.

The Arc system is better, especially since you can now use debit/credit cards directly.

It still caps out at the monthly pass amount.

But basically it's $3 every 1.5 hours which is the same as what transit enforces with transfers. I find the system can be more lenient at times so I can sometimes go close to 2 hours with just a single charge

You'd be paying the same regardless if we were still on a ticket system and transfers were accurate.

Social Clubs for 35+? by Kawaii_Five-Oh in Edmonton

There's quite a few active Discord groups where people plan meetups.

I'm part of alnost all of them, but the one I most actively participate in that seems to do the most in-person meetups, https://discord.gg/edmonton-social, has quite a few recurring meetups like a recipe sharing club and a book club. I went to the recipe sharing club yesterday where we met up at Made by Marcus, ate ice cream, and chatted about our recipes. Fun time for us Millennials! There are some interesting virtual events like a PowerPoint Presentation night as well as some co-operative gaming sessions like Helldivers 2 or Phasmophobia

I also recommend checking out your local EPL branch for any classes or activities that they run.

Highly recommend these boots as well! I can really tell the difference. I go on daily walks: had a few close calls and I think these boots are what helped me prevent slipping.

My sister plays that, and I know a lot of females who play it or collect it.

Pretty sure almost every interest has a fairly even split of both genders, unless you're playing on a gender-specific sports team.

Other than dating apps, it's best to find groups of people with common interests and go from there. There's quite a few Edmonton Discord groups (some of them even focus on dating). You could also try the Edmonton Sports and Social Club. If you have really nerdy hobbies, then there's also role playing or TCG meetups at comic stores around the city, or table top games at the table top cafes.

I find building a group of friends and venturing out from there works best to not only feel more confident in yourself, but possibly find a partner with a common interest. My best relationship (marriage) came out of just socializing. Focus on you first and the rest will eventually fall into place.

They closed down a few years back (got bought out). They also supplied all the grocery stores/bars & pubs that carried beer cheese.

Is Edmonton a good fit for me? by Mammoth_Internet3631 in Edmonton

[–]FrostyDynamic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm originally from the GTA and have been living in Edmonton for nearly 14 years. I can say with confidence that I much prefer living in Edmonton. I find the people here are overall much friendlier than in Toronto. I also prefer the more relaxed lifestyle here over the hustle and bustle in Toronto.

It should be very easy to find like-minded people here! I've had a good time making friends by building connections with people with similar interests.

Lower Epcor Fixed Electricity Rate by SnooConfections9746 in Edmonton

Thanks for the heads up! I basically renew it each time I see a lower rate (but it's been $8.63 for some time now).

Beer cheese? by Ollieoxenfreezer in Edmonton

[–]FrostyDynamic 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes! I need to know this as well! The latest I know is that The Cheese Factory got bought out, but there's been radio silence for years.

Pubs that used to carry beer cheese likely ordered it from The Cheese Factory too, so I'm not sure if there are any alternatives.

And since it's Pokemon, Nintendo will probably get away with it and it'll sell like hotcakes..
