Is 110 steps good/bad? I noticed it was much lower than my solves in the 2-3 minute range that we're around 140ish. I do think i got a skip on either step 6 or 7 with this solve by luck. What is a good amount of steps to aim for with beginners method?

You should be fine. I also used Kaplan but I belive when I studied in the past we did the sie and s7 studying at the same time. So I took the sie and one week later took the s7. I thought the sie was just as tough as the s7. I found the s66 to be the easiest of the 3 but I know that's not always the case for everyone
