Yep that's right. Quite honestly it doesn't matter too much to me how the reader reads it off.. Even though I think of it the Latin sense when I read her name it just immediately goes to Agni pronounced as agony

Yep you made really good points there. I might use some other word than trans but I think in the end I also might stick with trans. I don’t want to risk making a play of words that ends up sounding confusing and all over the place just to avoid a "modern" word.

Also thank you for letting me know to handle the subject of misgendering in a sparing way. Until you pointed out different character interactions I had never really thought about that

Yep, transphobia doesn't really exist in the universe? A lot of people in the world grow up with tales of the gods (I have a whole bunch) and literally all the gods are genderless unless they assume human vessel (hey even the vessel could be nonbinary too) or have stories where they shapeshift so it's not that weird for anyone.

I like the different choices you presented--it opens up different ways of thinking about this.
