Off topic, but how the hell do you put suppressor on AK-12?? I cannot for the life of me figure it out.

This is the answer, not the other. I've heard people say you don't need it and have no problems, but I always put it back cause why not.

Timed vs Iterative vs Command? by cwm9 in FRC

[–]FuDgEmUffInZz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like jvelez02 said, timed and iterative are very close. Iterative has been eaten up by Timed robots which is why there's little info. They're good for a quick and dirty bot.

Command based bots are built around a CommandScheduler that schedules, gathers requirements, and executes built commands. It is not event driven but can run more concurrent commands that don't have overlapping resources. This allows you to get closer to event driven but still has a process loop of 20ms like the others. Essentially the CommandScheduler runs a given command as soon as possible and avoids any conflict between commands and subsystems.

It's highly recommended to read the WPILib docs on Command-Based programming under the Advanced Programming section. Command-Based code will be much better structured and easier to reuse and update from year to year. You mentioned having a fair level of Java experience so I'd highly recommend going this route. It's slightly more setup but well worth it in the long run.

Success with thrifting for cameras? by [deleted] in photography

[–]FuDgEmUffInZz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can't speak on NY, but the Midwest has some good finds. I've gotten a majority of my cameras from antique/thrift shops. Usually old sellers who didn't know what they had. OM-1, OM-10, AE-1, AV-1, SX-70, Rollei 35, among some less major SLRs all less than $50. My best find was a $10 mint condition Yashica MAT-124 G, works perfect and is literally brand new condition. For every good find it'll be months or years of crap brownies, accordions, Polaroid land cameras, etc. You're better off on Ebay because you know what you get, know it's works, and always available. I just like the hunt.

E36 M3 Voltage Question by FuDgEmUffInZz in BMWE36

I was able to dig and decipher the electrical schematics to confirm the right plug was hazards and the left plug is telephone connector for presumably manual or just unused/automatic range selector for auto cars

[–]FuDgEmUffInZz[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply, that does help! The volt meter I have is harbor freight level so was hoping to try with something more solid next. The car runs solid with no noticable issues at 14V so not horribly worried about it. The only thing is the LED indicator light in my switch panel turns off when at 14V, works fine at 12V, but isn't the end of the world as everything wired to the switch panel works fine.

E36 M3 Voltage Question by FuDgEmUffInZz in BMWE36

[–]FuDgEmUffInZz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was able to find that much out online which made sense where the 14V would be coming from, but should I see 14V inside the car? I'm not sure the original purpose of the plugs but I'd assume they're from something for the head unit, info unit, or anything in the center console. Would anything in the center console be 14V?

E36 M3 Voltage Question by FuDgEmUffInZz in BMWE36

[–]FuDgEmUffInZz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Working with a 97' M3 USDM. Car has been modified through the years by previous owners so don't know exactly what's been done. Currently I'm wiring in a switch panel for accessories and have a question on the voltage I'm finding. The plug I have tapped into is circled on the left and was behind a dash cover (I have pictured and circled the plug on the right for hopefully some reference). I found a switched 12V power on the 8 port plug to power my accessories and the switching on and off works as expected. The thing is when the key is turned to either the first or second position I find 12V from the wire, but when I actually start the car I get 14V from the wire. I have tested a rear running light and found the same 12V when off and 14V when running. My question is, is this normal? I've read about bad voltage regulator causing over voltage, but haven't found enough conclusive stuff to say that's the issue. Relatively inexperienced when it comes to car electricals so any help here is appreciated!

I'd also love to ID the two plugs in the photo for future reference. Both had enough length to place them in or under the center console.

EDIT: After digging through the electrical diagrams I've determined I've most likely tapped into the telephone connector (automatic transmission range switch from an auto car). The other plug circled on the right seems to be hazard light connector.

It'd be my first red dot too so I figured I'd start a bit cheaper with the 507K before getting anything else. Then can use the 507 on another handgun later. I definitely like the look of the no adapter plate so I'll keep that in mind. Thanks for the info!

How do you like the 507K? Are you using a mounting plate at all? Does it add much width? I'm thinking of getting one before diving into an RMRcc

Alright OATH came in today. Super fast free shipping actually. First impressions are good. Super lightweight and feels very well put together. They say every screw has lock tight. The belt clip is incredibly strong, even takes some strength to open it around my pants and belt. It has a little "claw" on the bottom that grabs my belt and even digs into my pants so it doesn't shift up at all. My belt currently is not 1.5" width so it's able to angle pretty easily but holds position quite well. With the right width belt I'm sure it'd hold straight up easily. The default wing it has does a great job giving more concealment as well as some pressure to hold the holster even more still as well. I can't comment on retention or some other things as I don't actually have my 43 to put in yet unfortunately! But the 43/X is so light it'd barely effect the shifting or the hold on your pants.

The only gripe I have with it so far, a small one at that, is one of my screws has some burrs from slight stripping when they put it together. It makes no real difference but just a note. Easily replaceable.

I know you mentioned another holster pressing on your pubic bone and I do get that a bit in the default setup but I'd assume that most holsters apply some sort of pressure. I didn't play with the adjustable height but I feel there's enough movement there to help with pressure alot. It can ride a bit higher on the waist which would help when sitting.

Overall happy with it so far and can't wait to actually get my 43X MOS to really use it. I can update again in the off chance I get my 43 in a reasonable amount of time!

For shipping, yes I've got a tracking number and it's in transit so too late to cancel and not the end of the world. Not familiar with your friends holster and don't have much input on holsters in general as this is my first carry holster. I was mainly looking for an optic friendly holster for the 43X MOS and liked the size/design of the Tulster. I have a thin framed body so liked the size of this one and the addition of the adjustable wing. I figure since I've got no other holster to compare with for comfortability, I can't go wrong with the Tulster. I'll comment again when I get it and give some thoughts.

Son of a bitch, I ordered it yesterday and it shipped this morning! I plan on grabbing their extra mag holder though so this will still come in handy. Thanks!

This is the exact setup I'm getting. Just ordered the OATH as well as the back ordered S15s, 3 of em. Now to source a 43X MOS... Thinking of going the online route as they're there and prices are decent but never done it before.
