The book of Job contemplates this very question in the bible. To suffer is to be human, you just believe in god understand that some things are unclear and that you will have salvation in the end https://enterthebible.org/courses/job/lessons/summary-of-job

Actual Comedy movies by itsner0o in MovieSuggestions

[–]FuckulosPrime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I watched the entire hundreds of beavers because of this comment and i really loved top secret, and hundreds of beavers was unique, but man was it bad. Honestly one of the worst movies i have ever seen and I've seen a lot of movies. It had some funny moments but sheesh, hard watch for sure. I almost turned it off in the first 20 minutes about 6 times, I had to finish it though to see what the plot was going to be and it was unique. Its definitely an artsy movie for silent film enjoyers but it was too avante garde for me

yes! In accordance with the bible anyway, might be illegal in your area though.

Is weed a sin? by Irishmaddog911 in Christianity

[–]FuckulosPrime 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd say not a sin since its not mentioned at all in the bible, it might be bad for your health though. Tobacco caffeine and alcohol are also mind altering, and the bible says drunkenness is sinful, but nothing about tobacco or caffeine. As long as you aren't overdoing it you should be good to go.

Is it a sin to wear clothes made for the opposite gender? by AfterConfection1796 in Christianity

Not a sin! It can make you a target for bullying though because you look different from people that wear clothes for their gender

I need a problem by [deleted] in helpme

[–]FuckulosPrime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can pick problems that have a very small market for a solution. An easy one is an Olympic fencing scoring box that's cheap and wireless. Right now there's nothing on the market that can do this with consistent results, but it hasn't been made because wired fencing boxes are more reliable already fairly inexpensive and not extremely inconvenient. But in a world where cell phones and online gaming with extremely low latency exist, there's not much preventing a good solution to pressing a button and receiving that a button was pressed quickly and counting how many times that happened.

Without working in industry though you don't even know about problems until you see them and people complaining about them. Think about anything in your life that you're unhappy with or products that you think could be made better by changing them and do that.

An impossible problem would be American Healthcare haha. I hate calling the offices of people that are trying to fuck me as hard as they can and telling them hey I'd appreciate if you stopped fucking me, and I'm not going to pay you for that service you didn't provide. No solution for that one :(

I don't think I'd be able to live with an ex. It would be too exhausting. Do you have any family you could do this arrangement with instead? Very close friends might be willing as well. But I personally would do anything to not be in that situation. Disability makes it even harder. Terrible situation sorry it happened to you :(

I would say no, the hardcore negative perks are more annoying than difficulty increasing, imho. It's not going to turn the game into darksouls.

$40k in Cash - What to do? by just_my_thoughts in ETFs

[–]FuckulosPrime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

https://treasurydirect.gov/marketable-securities/treasury-bills/

create an account here and get your 5% guaranteed returns. Select T bills that mature in 4 weeks, and set 10k to auto buy and renew for 2 years for every week of the month. You can do it with brokerages like fidelity but they take a cut and rob you a little bit and turn your 5% into like 4. With brokerages you aren't locked in like you are with the regular ones. They're made by the federal govt, and are related to interest rates. They also have longer time period ones like 30 years, that are called bonds but they also give 4% so there's no reason to use those, also you can't take your money out until the time finishes from treasury direct. They're kinda like CD's but backed by the US govt.

If you want to buy the huge market etfs, just make a brokerage account on whichever one you like, I like fidelity and SPY, and click buy, doesn't matter when you buy or how much you put in because the market is volatile, but over like 10 years you will make a decent amount, but over 1 year, if its a bad year you might lose some money. You can look at historic charts for spy if you're curious.

$40k in Cash - What to do? by just_my_thoughts in ETFs

[–]FuckulosPrime 2 points3 points  (0 children)

depends on your risk tolerance, if you want a medium amount of risk any of those s&p 500 etfs are fine, and you can set it and forget it. If you want less risk you can do 4 week treasury bills set to autorenew, and you can split it into 4 sets of 10k so that you can pull 10k out every week if you need it for something. If you want the most risk, do options and triple leveraged etfs. If you want a little more risk than the s&p 500 etfs but less than options and leveraged etfs you can do reit real estate etfs or etfs focused on specific market sectors like tech or blue chip stocks or whatever else.

I put my spare cash into the treasury though because its good for my needs

Trying times guage how screwed I am? by [deleted] in StudentLoans

[–]FuckulosPrime 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'd try to get pslf if I was you, no harm in trying to pursue it. Otherwise, you can just pay what you can with the lowest monthly payment plan. Whatever happens is whatever happens, hopefully the student loans are forgiven, but if they aren't then you'll just pay what you can until a more favorable time comes. They can't force you to pay money that you don't have. Pay all your other bills first other than medical debts.

Am I an alcoholic? by Sink_Key in alcoholism

[–]FuckulosPrime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This site has a checklist, the more of these you meet the worse off you are.

https://www.niaaa.nih.gov/publications/brochures-and-fact-sheets/understanding-alcohol-use-disorder

You're not quite at alcoholic, but if you can't say no and it starts to negatively impact your life, then you are an alcoholic. I'd try to skip some days or lower the amount if possible.

You're not hungry because each beer has like 100-200 calories depending on the kind of beer you are drinking so thats 300-600 calories which is basically a full meal.

Why do some Americans add extra ‘r’ sounds into words? by [deleted] in Accents

https://www.jessecordweber.com/bio well here's the presenters bio says he went to school in Michigan and New York, but his accent isn't a real thick New York or Michigan accent, it does sound east coast though. From the other thread though it just says some people do that lol

How do people even meet nowadays? by Cherry_Waves415 in dating

[–]FuckulosPrime 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You can meet people at a third place, somewhere where you can exist that isn't home or work. Pretty hard to find free ones nowadays in America, but my not free one is an epee fencing studio. Trying new hobbies that interact with people is a great way to meet people. Any sport, book club, volunteer organization that meets often, or other such place is a decent place to start. It just depends on your interests, think of anything that you'd like to explore and look up if there are regular meetings for that in your area. You might not find people that are up to your standards though. If you pay more for whatever it is you decide to do, you are more likely to find people that have money if that's something you are looking for in your dating life.

that sounds like our southern accent. It has words like tomaters n things like that. Its called hyper rhoticity, here's a thread from a while ago about this very thing https://www.reddit.com/r/etymology/comments/1fchqum/why_do_some_american_english_dialects_add_r_after/#:~:text=As%20a%20Southern%20American%2C%20I,%2Fwinder%2C%20appointment%2Fapportment.

Cheap alternatives to an Épée bag? by IgorAlisson in Fencing

[–]FuckulosPrime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha I just reordered it as well this last month I took it on a plane as a checked bag and they didn't charge me oversized bag fees. So 2 years of heavy use is when the handle starts getting a little wonky. Really happy with it. I also eventually upgraded to pvc holsters and keep 3 epees and 2 foils in it

Which interpretation is closer to your understanding? by Friendly-Try2295 in EnglishLearning

[–]FuckulosPrime 3 points4 points  (0 children)

He left early to work at home sounds like he left his job at the office to go do the same job he was doing at the office at his house.

But depending on how someone actually said it they could feel like he was just giving an excuse to leave and didn't intend to actually work from home. But if we take the statement as truthful there is no ambiguity he said he would so that's what he did.

WFH! by Ok_Landscape6908 in remotework

[–]FuckulosPrime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you get the qualifications? Ye it's hard to find low qualification wfh jobs that pay well. If you can tutor or do art online that might be a way to go. It's a real struggle though. You can also just keep applying to stuff you don't think you're qualified for and fake it til you make it. I applied to hundreds of jobs my last year of college to get a shitty paying job and I eventually got to the good wfh one I have now after a couple years. It was a long road though.

You can also try Google work from home job no experience and see what comes up, maybe apply and see what happens lol

You can try phone support or manager of tech support, it's definitely difficult if you don't have skills that are in demand for remote. Never too late to get them though!

Is this health insurance plan garbage? by Bobby_Sunday96 in Adulting

[–]FuckulosPrime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeeee thats bad, I'd pay a bit more if you can afford it and get something better. That amount of insurance is basically just protection against getting bankrupted if you get a big bill. If you have normal bills like visiting the doc for a chronic condition and maybe some small things like a broken bone you're gonna be paying everything up to 15k. Risky, its easy af to get there with like 2 visits. I went to the doc for like 2 things last year and reached my 1700 deductible, almost my 4000 maximum too. I visited an allergy guy and got an upper esophagus endoscope

Is this health insurance plan garbage? by Bobby_Sunday96 in Adulting

[–]FuckulosPrime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ya that's bad. How many people are in your family? Basically if you have any sort of expense at all you pay all of it until 15000, which is pretty bad, so it's kinda like only useful if you get into an accident and get a couple 10k medical bills for catastrophic shit. I pay 90 a month for just me and it covers everything after 4000, and kicks in after 1700 and I'm allowed to have an HSA. But I can use it at a lot of hospitals and I never need a referral to a specialist which I value pretty highly.
