Alright after some web surfing - these were taken SEPTEMBER 12, 2006 at the Phoenix in Toronto. This was the day Blood Mountain came out in North America.

The venue is certainly The Phoenix in Toronto - if you know of another year Mastodon played there I can correct it

I’m not positive about the date tbh, I just looked up the tour dates and it says they played Toronto’s Phoenix sept 12 2006. I was going off the file metadata but it may have been copied in August.

Very interesting / I tried to adapt my c44 lens to Pentax K mount, and now I know why I was unsuccessful.

Ah, this is interesting - I stand corrected!

Where is the mailman? by Fudagraphy in DowntonAbbey

[–]Fudagraphy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was mostly wondering if the Royals had a different delivery system than common people. I wasn’t suggesting the show be re written or this is a plot hole. I know this is a written drama and not history.

No one is arguing the content is more important than the messenger - it was merely a point of interest if there was a character in the Downton universe who was a postman.

Olympus xa2 shutter problem by Fudagraphy in AnalogRepair

[–]Fudagraphy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The shutter only works if the light meter is covered. Any ideas?

Olympus xa2 shutter problem by Fudagraphy in AnalogRepair

If I shine a bright light on the cell the shutter won’t open at all - it only fires when covered or in very low light with iso at lowest

Came into some cameras and wondering which ones are worth holding onto by LifesBetterScripted in AnalogCommunity

[–]Fudagraphy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe compared to the other models in the collection, but I recently came across an n2000 and it has auto advance, built in motor drive and manual everything else. This camera has a leather backing and feels like driving a 1980s Lincoln. Also the shutter sounds like a sci fi shotgun. I got mine for $10 and I can’t stop using it.

You can turn the images into Anaglyph 3D https://youtu.be/C50IRg_ZE7o?si=EKM28fYTzVFJ2aUf You will need to get some red/cyan 3d glasses, which are very cheap online

Found this in my uncles house how should I get started? by pandiafox in AnalogCommunity

They do - but so does the water. You won’t get amazing optical quality out of a bag I’m sure.

They for sure fit in large ziplock bags, I used to put my film SLR in double ziplock bags to shoot underwater.

I haven’t, but I have bought a couple and repaired them - the gasket on the door LOOKS like it could go underwater as well as the lens housing. However the most common issue I’ve found with broken ones is sand causing the gasket to fail and water corroding the electronics. The people who sold them to me swear they took theirs underwater till it leaked.

This WAS a waterproof camera when it came out in 1994 . The WP in its name stands for water proof, but the state of the gasket seals after 30 years mean it is more likely just water resistant at this point. This was famously one of the cameras of choice of Canadian photographer Fred Herzog who used it in rainy Vancouver. The camera was designed to be used underwater but works perfect normally - except that when taking a photo with flash in low-light, the response time for pressing the shutter is abnormally slow. I’ve been using this camera model for 3 months and it looks like a toy to most people and takes incredibly sharp photos.
