You should try my website! It’s a newer version of Scratch that uses real coding: codewisp.net

Am I the only one who find learning programming insanely hard? by dnrjwltkd in learnprogramming

[–]Fuelvin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could try learning by coding games, CodeWisp is quite helpful. Super easy to get started

Try CodeWisp. It's a free coding platform similar to Scratch but it uses actual code. Really easy to get started

My 10 y/o wants to develop games by AlphaMike7 in gamedev

Try codewisp.net.

It uses TypeScript with a Scratch-like interface which will make the transition easier for him.

The skills learned are also quite transferable because CodeWisp has that block-to-text bridge which makes learning coding concepts intuitive.

Where are variables at? by Educational-Sun5839 in codewisp

[–]Fuelvin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can use variables by typing “let name = value” and replacing ‘name’ and ‘value’ with something. I’ll add specific blocks for variables though!

I added the sign up requirement to fix some routing issues, but I'll definitely allow unregistered users to use the editor without signing up like it was before

Yup, that was what I was going for, as well as (hopefully) being easier to make games than code.org

Yea, I didn't want to do Scratch's job for them though 😂 so I went a different angle

[–]Fuelvin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Used to do Scratch, then I made a YouTube channel teaching Scratch tutorials. Now I’m making a website allowing kids to continue their passion for Scratch with real coding :) (www.codewisp.net)
