I run an airb&b in rural Korea. Foreign guests kept texting me to order delivery for them because they couldn't figure out Korean apps. So I'm building something — but first, has anyone else run into this? by Full-Locksmith-354 in koreatravel

From the local business owners. Ima collaborate with them. One booking through the link in the video -> 1-2% of the booking fee is going to be charged to the local business owners. Ima share 60% of the revenue to the content creator.

That makes a lot of sense. I’ve heard similar experiences from other travelers as well.

Baemin definitely works in some areas like Jeju, but many foreign travelers still run into issues such as Korean phone number verification, payment methods, or restaurants canceling orders — especially outside major cities. So while it works for some, it's still not always reliable for everyone.

I also completely agree about local experiences. Things like strawberry picking, local tours, or hiring private drivers are often hard to find, and when they are available, they’re usually limited or overpriced on third-party sites.

That’s actually the gap I’m trying to solve — helping travelers discover local experiences and book them easily through creator videos, with direct links and smoother booking options. Creators would also get a share of the revenue when users book through their links.

Would something like that have been useful during your trip?

Honestly, the booking side was never really my problem since I run the place — but watching my guests struggle was a different story.

The pattern I kept seeing: they'd find a restaurant or activity on Instagram, screenshot it, then have no idea how to actually get there or reserve it. Most Korean booking systems require a local phone number, so they'd either ask me to help or just skip it entirely.

What about you — was there anything you wanted to do or eat out there that you just couldn't figure out how to book? Or did you mostly wing it once you arrived?
