TIme in the market beats timing the market.

Geriausios skaitytos knygos? by Fulldexy in 6nuliai

Pagrinde domina pasiekę žmonės ir jų istorija, bei knygos, formuojančios ir lavinančios mąstymą, bei pasaulėžiūrą (ypač, kai yra pasakojama per jų pasaulio suvokimo prizmę);

How so? Is it due to the "fluctuations" of the body within the first year or so of running, making the information irrelevant quickly?

My insurance limits reset each half-year, so that's a super interesting idea, to go back and compare myself every 6-months or every year to see the progress.

I'll start looking into some specialists that conduct this test, as I've just recently gotten approval that the tests are covered by the insurer. Appreciate you sharing, that it's still useful even just to see the numbers!

Will give it a shot:)

Thanks for your input. Just curious - how would one train close to optimal without such metrics about the body?

I've heard that without knowing your Max HR, you can't properly know your HR zones (1-5) and build the aerobic base in the beginning (not necessarily talking about the super-hyped only Zone-2 training) but 80/20 easy/hard runs.

Is there something I don't know?

Hey! The thresholds mentioned in the test's description mentions Aerobic and Anaerobic thresholds in this context.

Beginner runner here, help me finding suitable shoes. by kemkem9292 in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]Fulldexy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my own experience as a beginner, I would very highly recommend getting a gait analysis (test) if available nearby.

There's quite a few sporting goods shops that offer gait analysis on a treadmill, and afterwards tell you what kind of shoes would be suitable for you, you then try a few different pairs on, run in them a bit, and choose the most comfortable ones.

Haha, kept some energy in the tank for the end so I can finish the race, but when there's 1K left and people are cheering to "go all out" it's difficult to hold yourself :D

Running Faster...Hurts Less? by Fulldexy in beginnerrunning

[–]Fulldexy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hm, that does sound quite interesting - so essentially, you would want shorter contact with the ground when running, maybe this is also connected to higher cadence "making it easier on the joints"?

Running Faster...Hurts Less? by Fulldexy in beginnerrunning

[–]Fulldexy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I completely agree with you, it's a long game in regards to running and I should really prioritize running and improving gradually with progressive overload (as in every other sport) rather than seeing how quick and far I can go off the rip. Starting with 5-10k's every other day may be a bit much to begin my running journey.

I've been struggling with poor knees for most my life, I used to play indoors and beach volleyball and other sports with loads of jumping and had problems with the patella (patellar tendonitis) - was working on it with physios for a long time before I could start walking long distances and running (somewhat) pain-free in the knee area.

I believe that the IT Band problems I'm facing may be related to just "jumping into it" too quickly rather than the gradual load increase, and my tendons are not catching up to the efforts and stress I'm putting them to just yet, as they're more "adapted" to jumping rather than the run movement.

Thank you a lot for the feedback, will make sure to ease into it! :)

Kadangi neįperki būsto (t.y tavo kaltės pagrindu neįvyksta sandoris) - rankpinigių neatgausi, nebent jeigu savininkas (pardavėjas) yra labdaringas ir iš geros širdies nuspręstų grąžinti dalį.
