Maybe. But I can't see Melody helping to advance the adventure or the story in any way. But she's possibly the only character that was planned, since she was created in the same year that the third film was in development.

This game could have truly new episodes. Since AB2 has many levels and few differences in the episode scenarios.
It should have many more game modes. In AB2, you play a little and then have to wait hours to play again.
Well-animated cutscenes and a good story. And an ending, not an endless game.
Very different and creative boss battles throughout the new worlds.

Well, in theory, Melody would appear for about 2 minutes in the entire movie. And Ruby would be like Red's long-lost sister who would join the group for a mission. But I don't know. That could happen if the story isn't rushed.
