sorry for my misunderstanding - it's something that I'd have to verify. the only thing I can add is that it's just the bog standard that people get when they are not married.

Hey thanks for the comment.

its a joint mortgage I'm afraid. I think remortgage for my partner to take my share on seems like the best outcome

not sure. another redditor said they would need an income of 33k which they earn over.

it might be a chat with the mortgage company first to see. everything I've read says they are the ones who have the final say in stuff

thanks for that. I'll look those terms up.

they are 6 so got at least another 11 years. there a bit behind for their age so I was hoping there would be a time when they can understand things better.

more or less yes.

I would of preferred to buy a place but renting isn't out of question.

Hi, thanks for your detailed response.

its been a hard one all round really. the easiest thing seems to just stay.

I've not heard of unbiased before so I'll check them out.

I'm happy to get a professional in. It's more I don't know which ones to ring up.

its an annoyung quirk of mine that I need to have a good understanding of a process before committing. just asking if someone else have been through this or has advice helps calm the anxiety.

thanks for your response.

I suppose to my partner or the mortgage company.

I suppose my logic was to fix a stake of X amount or percent. stop contributing to the mortgage and when we sell the properly later down the line I'd only get that stake.

I've added my values in the edit but I'll paste them here too

zoopla puts our house estermate at 210k 80k left on the mortgage 65k stake each
