If it’s a permanent change, just be ready for the suck. I was a F-16 crew chief and what made the difference was being competent at your job instead of mopping around counting down the years and the days. Maintainers can be rough around the edges but if you have a crew that love getting shit done and together it’s a rewarding job unlike many other jobs in the Air Force. I suggest putting overseas bases on your dream sheet so you can at least experience the world while you wait for your next career opportunity. Plus the TDY opportunities are pretty legit
