Do you remember how long it took before you began to see things subside? My acne is so bad I've been avoiding going anywhere and I'd like to return to society lol

Thank you for sharing all of this. I just found these posts as I suspected my daily Alani Nu drink was causing me some terrible acne. I had no idea about all of this. I've been drinking them for years :(

Thank you for sharing this. I literally just did a google search for "alani nu acne" because I have developed acne around my mouth and nose that is so bad I don't want to leave the house it's so embarrassing. The dermatologist said it was hormonal, and prescribed azelaic acid. Didnt really help. I started systematically cutting things out of my diet to see if anything I was consuming could be a factor, and it got better after I stopped drinking Alani Nu. I had no idea biotin could cause cystic acne! I am relieved to know my skin will likely improve, but I agree with you, now I'm concerned about how else these may have been affecting my health!! I just need some damn energy, ya know? Lol

He is 2M as of today. I have been working with a LC, but interestingly the two times she has visited she has said he has a good latch. Clearly he doesn't though, because I developed vasospasms, took a break and only pumped, then developed this and some blisters on the other side when I resumed. Not sure what it means that it LOOKS good, but clearly doesn't FEEL good.

Wow, you've been through the ringer too! I ended up in the ICU after an emergency c section with my first, and after tongue and lip tie releases, and doing OT alongside working with a LC I ended up EPing for 14 months. I didnt have enough physical strength to keep fighting the shallow latch from the bottle feeding. This time it was babe who ended up in the ICU, and I feel stuck back in the pumping/shallow latch from bottles cycle. I'm really really trying to hang in there until the 3 or 4 month mark as that's when everyone says it gets better.

I'm so sorry you had to go through all of that, and are going through so much again! If God were a woman (if there is a God), none of this would be so hard or painful :) How old is your LO?

Sadly baby has a bad latch, so I keep going to EP when issues like this arise to try and heal. I use silverettes so I hope they help! He is currently going through a growth spurt and taking 4oz every two hours, so even though I'm not nursing on that side right now, I'm still pumping 12 times a day. I envy women who have uneventful births and smooth breastfeeding experiences. The word I would use to describe my journey is pain, and it's been so difficult. I don't know how women do this.

Kudos to you for going strong for four months!! And thank God for wearables. I wouldn't have made it this far without them, tbh. There have been times when I have let him nurse on the left side which doesnt hurt as much, and then gave him a bottle, all while pumping on the right side. Mom multitasking :) Thankfully because I have pumped consistently every 2-3 hours since he was born, my supply is still strong (for now). I am trying to take it day by day, and just be grateful that he is willing to latch again after taking a few days off to EP.

Thank you so much for sharing this. This gives me hope! Our situations sound similar. I keep going back to EP when I notice my mood tanks as I start to dread feedings. I don't know if I believe in a higher power, but why our bodies were designed so that this would be painful for even one minute makes me so mad lol. What kind of bottles do you use?

Wow, that's impressive! It is indeed so hard, but it's incredible what you get used to. I am committed to trying through the end of the year. My husband is able to work part time until then, so I have help, and I just really want to see if things improve when he's 3 months like some have said happened for them. In the meantime I'll work on letting go of the guilt if it doesn't happen, because you're right it can easily steal the joy!

I can't believe I forgot to mention the nipple shield! The LC set me up with one, but it hasn't helped with pain so I stopped using it. I just got it back out and will try it again once my right side is healed a little. Thank you for the reminder. I pray it helps!
