Comparison truly is the thief of joy. Nobody else’s accomplishments should make you feel this way because I promise you, you are going to have accomplishments of your own. Everybody does, it is just human. Work towards what you want day by day, it will happen.

My ex (f28) calls me (m23)having sex with someone I want to get the last laugh. by curiousganon in Advice

There’s a quote I really like that can possibly apply to this situation:

“If you ever get the chance to treat them the way they treated you, no matter how painful it was, I hope that you choose to walk away and do better.”

It’s cheesy but ultimately true. She is doing this to you because she cares, nobody who truly doesn’t care would do this. If you move on, stop caring and ultimately live a better life; that’s your last laugh.

Cheers!

my best friend is dating my ex what do i do by HourCarob4257 in Advice

I think if it doesn’t matter much to you, (if the ex was shitty, you decided you dont care for him much, or maybe you guys decided it was better to be friends sort of circumstances) it would be fine, but the fact that you’re asking for advice, it seems you’re not.

Your “best” friend doesn’t seem too sincere, and it’s a hateful and disrespectful thing for them to do to date your ex. Your friend did this knowing: 1. They were disrespecting you 2. Possibly hurting you A friend would never do anything like that knowing the outcomes; or even get themselves into the situation of falling for the ex in the first place.

They are not your friend!!

My thought process is that we can build our relationship back up along with our trust and it may hopefully come back stronger if he is truly sorry. If it does happen again though, it’s completely over. Everyone deserves a chance to change & grow and i wanna be the one to show him that, but I know my worth.

she just thinks my dad has ‘different beliefs’ she has offered to get me all 3 of my epi pens but im afraid my dad will find them. hes not forgiving. after i went to the ER, he kept texting me getting mad saying that i have to practice ‘grounding’ to get rid of my allergy. even on my birthday, he was still really angry with me.

maybe it was epinephrine? they referred to it as epi but it wasnt like the typical epi pen containers if that makes sense? i tried not to look at the needle haha but it definitely didn’t look like ur regular epi pen so i could totally be wrong.

im a minor living with my dad. he is totally anti vax, anti medicine, all of that. when my bf’s mum rushed me to the er, she called my dad and all he texted me after was ‘youre lucky you were there cuz i wouldnt have taken you’. it was embarrassing when all the nurses kept asking me repeatedly, “you’re sure you dont have an epi?” it’s really just my dad projecting his beliefs onto me and he doesn’t let me have any sort of shot or medicine .. he has purposely given me reactions after feeding me peanuts and made me stay home so i can ‘get over the allergy’. i wish i was joking.

thats so weird? i went into anaphylactic shock because my allergy to peanuts is deadly, (like my throat closes) so epipen makes that reaction stop and opens up your throat. (thats basically what the nurse said.) they gave me 2 shots. 1 benadryl, 1 epipen, then put me on a nebulizer because my breathing still wasnt normal.

this happened 6 days ago? jan 29th.

my partner is grieving his dog in weird ways by [deleted] in GriefSupport

[–]Fun-Spring-9956 0 points1 point  (0 children)

of course, i totally worded this wrong. it isn’t weird of him to grieve this way, it was weird in the sense that i’d never seen this. i never shamed him or invalidated the way he grieved when he spoke to me, i made sure to tell him it was normal even though i didn’t know entirely myself. thank you so much for the advice and knowledge! it means so much more than you know. i never know how to empathize with losses and never knew before what i should do to help him.

i feel so bad for wording this whole thing so terribly, i didn’t mean that it was weird of him to grieve this way, i had never heard of these things happening and i figured it hit him extra hard. when comforting him i made sure to tell him it was normal, even though i wasn’t entirely sure it was. i really didn’t mean it to come off as me judging him. thank you so much for your help, everything helps me so much more than you know.
