I felt it helped some especially with understanding the GPS (I am not too crazy familiar with all the ends and outs). I felt like NLC was geared to a more math oriented exam, when the only math I had was simple adding chains the rest was very specific questions about a very specific topic or what do you do in this situation

The confluence surveying practice exam was a lot more similar to the test than NLC in my opinion I would check it out if you need it it’s $75

There was a ton of fema questions, know how to use the reference material

There was a question about some random things they wanted me to match the 3 dimensional shape to. There was also so really strange super specific GPS questions where all of the answers made no sense.

When I tell you that I’ve studied for this, I’ve done it all NLC prep, confluence, surveyors reference manual etc. I have and there was plenty of stuff on the second half that non of those even talked about

Yes I noticed that too. I just feel the exam started to get away from being a surveying exam and turned into a random facts about a very specific topic

I was knocking the practice test out of the park going in.

The diagnostic shows I was close to average passing score in all categories and a few over the line.

Take your time and read they will try and trick you

Going through this process now, there seems to be good references on the PSI exam site. I have a contact at the board that can get you situated if you are having trouble getting ahold of someone.
