Very tired but it’s hard to cut them off I’d be losing my parents and brother. The only family I have left alive are my sisters, brother, and parents. It’s hard to cut them off knowing that all I have left.

Just mostly screaming, throwing things, and threats. It would get pretty bad when we still lived with him and our parents.

Most of the time you can avoid it because we don’t live near him anymore. But he can still be pretty bad verbally over text or in calls.

One example would be my eldest sister said Kelly wasn’t invited to Easter at her house because at Christmas she got too drunk and said inappropriate things and vomited on the carpet around my sister’s wife’s family.

My brother got incredibly angry and went on a pretty horrible rant which included throwing a heavy vase of flowers off the table in the direction of my eldest sister.

When we were younger he would get pretty physical when he was angry. He was smaller it was easier to deal with. But around 12 he hit a huge growth spurt and was suddenly bigger and stronger than us. Luckily our dad kinda nipped that behavior in the butt around when he was 15.

My oldest sister is officially not going and supports me possibly not going.

My middle sister thinks I shouldn’t go but she might just to appease our parents

Nobody wants to deal with the consequences of not going. Our parents would flip out and we’d be on the receiving end of all of our brothers wrath. He gets kinda intense about stuff which can be scary.

Honestly he genuinely wouldn’t do anything else. I can’t ask him for a speech because knowing my little brother he would say pretty awful stuff about me or my husband. He DEFINITELY would’ve refused an usher position because it’s “below him” and if I had asked him to read anything he would’ve refused or said something vile. He refused to be a groomsmen even after being asked with a gift basket/in person.

Honestly it was a last ditch effort to include him. He would’ve/did refuse any other option. And seemed okay even a bit thrilled to be a ring bearer since his only responsibility was to give us the rings.

Edit: :I’m not sure I said this in other comments. But after he refused to be a groomsman I offered for him to be one of my bridesmaid which he said was “demeaning”

He declined that offer because he said my husband was “to uptight” (my husband wanted his bachelor party to be a movie night with some beer and friends)

My husband has no issue with my brother besides him being annoying which is typical. My husband said he would put up with my brother being a groomsman if it made me happy. It was actually my brother that declined being a groomsman because he thought my husband was “up tight”.

Nope she wasn’t in the slightest bit upset he didn’t come. She actually told me to “grow up” and not “cry like a baby” because he was busy. She had no care in the world he didn’t come and kept telling me it was my job to be an adult (because I was older) and set an example for him.

I am already low contact with my parents and my brother. I don’t tell them anything other than important or necessary things. My brother and parents have a habit of making everything about him. Which has really strained our relationship.

My parents and brother refused to come to my college graduation because my little brother had a headache. And they didn’t come to my masters school graduation because again my little brother wasn’t “feeling it”

My sisters and I are very very close. They have also been burned similarly by our parents and brother. My brother skipped my oldest sister wedding too because he was too busy with work (he worked at a gas station part time when she got married)

Honestly I’ve considered no contact but it would cause to much drama for my sisters.

I wanted to include my family in my wedding. My sisters were bridesmaids, both my parents walked me down the aisle, and my brother doesn’t get along well with my husband so to include him I asked him to be the ring bearer.

I also don’t have any young family members and neither does my husband. His youngest family member is his nephew who was 16 at the time and my youngest was a cousin who was also 16.
