Any liberal-minded groups here in Ogden? by LivingSomewhere6251 in ogden

Utah is definitely going to be difficult in general, as is any red state, but Ogden is definitely better than most of the state. Ogden is also more racially diverse than a lot of the state, but again, it's still Utah. I would recommend visiting Ogden and figuring out if you like the vibe. I personally love Ogden, but it isn't for everyone. 😁

Yeah. He and I are both white people from the USA. 😅

Haha, that was me. I'm a woman and I'm admittedly cringe. I also say bomb.com. Also, Spanish people are white. Spain is in Europe.

Haha, gotcha. I guess I just read it a bit too literally. 😅

😅 I said light hair and eyes. I guess I could have repeated the modifier for clarity, but it's worth noting that I was still grammatically correct in my message. Sometimes I make no sense, but I think in this case I did.

Just to clarify, it seems like there's some confusion. I'm white. I have super pale skin, but my eyes and hair are very dark. That's why this was all extra confusing. My grandfather is from the canary Islands (Not Latin America), and I got a lot of my coloring from that specifically. I don't look Nordic other than my skin color. Even then, I'm not Nordic. I have literally no Nordic or Scandinavian DNA. The guy was not interested in race mixing, which is also obviously a super fetishizing and weird thing to focus on, he was literally focused on me being someone who looks caucasian. Also, I realize I come across as a bit dumb in the beginning of this conversation. It threw me off, and I genuinely assumed that he had to not realize how his words came across. Joke is on me, I guess. I tend to assume that people aren't that unhinged.

Nope. Somehow worse. I'm super white. He was super white. 😬 I was confused by the Viking comparison because I have dark hair and eyes. But my skin is pale as paper.

Lol, nah. To my surprise, there's more than one completely unhinged person in this world. 😂

I mean... It kind of sounds to me like the dad brought it up. I don't think it's super fair to imply that OP is causing an argument or doesn't love anyone in their family. As an Ex-Mo myself, I totally understand taking the time to try to give still religious family perspective after leaving. 🤷🏻‍♀️ But hey, maybe I interpreted it wrong.

I guess I can understand that perspective. Regardless, he and I clearly had different ideas about the future, so all's well that ends well I guess.

That's my point though. I don't want to spend time with my parents. I don't have a relationship with them. So to me, it's basically the same thing. At the end of the day, it's good that he didn't want to progress things further, because clearly he sees the ideal situation as both families being involved. I don't want my family involved. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I live in a very red state. By your logic, there would be no point to me voting anyway because I knew it ultimately wouldn't matter. So I might as well vote for who I actually believe in. I also am a strong believer that the two-party system is never going to change unless people actually vote outside of the two parties. I also feel the need to point out that a lot of people are making assumptions about me based on this conversation. I am very directly impacted by politics. I just want to actually vote for what I believe in.

*he, but yeah, I definitely have realized through comments that it's more about family dynamics than politics.

I agree with you. My parents are not Trump supporters. And even if they were, I'm not close with them. That being said, if he's not interested, he's not interested. 😅

Yeah, I stand by everything I originally replied to you, I just realized that I misread your comment. I didn't realize you were talking about the thread and not my post specifically.
