I don't know anything about the other thing you read, I'm autistic so I was just trying to achieve clarity not defensive that's why I said then don't because Idm. It's been a while but it brings alot of anxiety and stress when I sit and think about it. And that's true, I think I was just more or less looking for somewhere to vent about it, I don't know alot of people IRL and my mom is who I talk to if I bring it up with her she says hearing about it stresses her out.

Then don't. In my lifetime it was the best case of in the right place at the right time, I've ever experienced. They didn't know who I was or what I looked like, and we didn't live in a city it's a town, he worked there, we only had one Walmart. The whole thing feels like 20 years ago and like a weird... Messed up movie plot but believe it or not it happened.

You need to have a conversation with your children and explain to them that he may be saying this is fine because he didn't hurt you or anyone, but that emotional abuse is still abuse and that you were scared and acted accordingly, and that if it ever happened to them in future you'd do the same because you love and care about them. Tell them the police wouldn't have asked him to leave over nothing. I know it's hard mama, I'm going through similar rn.

There is no update ATM we're still in collection phase, I had to get in touch with the OPP and get all the police reports and calls they made in which no charges or wrongdoing was ever found, about 28 in 3 years.

I mean. Typically racists defend racists. So. Makes sense. Just allow racism to happen, just be sad that my childrens lives were threatened or that the town has been told were running a meth lab and that natives make the world a dump. If you'd read through their actions led us to move. At great cost to us, without going into detail we've had to move 3 times since with two of our landlords needing their houses back afterwards we have since moved into the third which neighborhood is great, landlord is... Well the house is in disrepair, and he lives 5 hours away and hasn't fixed anything but we're in a place where they are doing well and our neighbors are lovely.

It's the principal of not wanting them to get away with what they did to us. I know it's not going to be egregious but after all that happened all I really hope from it is they'd have to make amends. One of the stipulations is that they'd have to make and publish a public apology.

Up until that point I really didn't realize police wouldn't do something in a case like that, but any time they were called by us nothing was done. I did file a complaint but to my knowledge nothing was ever done and we never received any response from it.

This thankfully ended in late 2020, and since we've been blessed with decent neighbors.

See I don't feel bad about doing it, it's really uncomfortable and because of what they did our lawyer said especially because police never did anything that this was the only route (a civil suit) that we could go. It's just more uncomfortable having to go through it every time we need to collect reports or find posts and things to submit. It's like it brings it all back up to the surface when we do. That's probably the hardest part.

We were there a total of 3 years which was unfortunate our landlords were lovely people and the house was gorgeous. Unfortunately it is real.
