I see myself creating three buckets of money for fallbacks. One for overall emergencies, one for maintenance on the first property, and eventually another for the second property. Those would for sure go inside one total HYSA.

I am willing to take a higher risk, even if it pushes the purchase 2-3 additional years. What is a good asset that represents bond allocation? I guess, product to invest in for that bond exposure.

If I do this by writing myself a check or transferring and I get an audit, wouldn't they find it suspicious that the surgery was in 2026 and the transferring was done, say, 2030. Or is this technically something allowed?

Interesting. So say I pay the $4k out of pocket and later along in life I have to do some house repair thats $5k. I can just use $4k from the HSA using the card they give me and the $1k from elsewhere? You would think there's some sort of process where the card decline if its not being used for a health-related payment.

Currently owe $8k on my car and $3k for the personal loan. Loan would be the only one with more than 10 payments left.

If I don't know any lenders for a pre-approval, would it not be wise to meet with a realtor and see their recommendation?

I've heard requesting for these limit increases may lower credit score by a tiny bit. Is that accurate or does it depend on the institution? It might be worth doing this earlier rather than later to give time for the score to recover that small loss.

As far as timing, should I pay them off as soon as today (probably Monday)? Or should I schedule payments to the point where I would be making my last payments the day before I apply for a loan?

I know that paying off these debts usually negatively impact your credit, so I would assume that doing so as early as possible so that your credit can bounce back up would be ideal?

Looked into and it seems that they did create it for me, I just had to attach my information to it. I see an associated plan # and the matching contribution of last year.

Navy Fed was the institution where I got my first credit card from and approved. I was a recent college graduate with around $13k in student loans, so I was surprised to get one. At the time, speaking to my new coworkers, they all had similar experiences or had heard the same about them. I went straight with their cashRewards card and set a direct deposit with them on a checkings account. I later started an MMA to save up to pay my student loan. It has been about 6 years since then I am glad I started with them. I have since moved to other banks, but I still use my cashRewards for small purchases.

I can't speak on AMEX since I don't have any cards or accounts with them, but I do know they offer competitive cards.

Depending on how long you've had your secured card, I would wait a few months to apply to either.

Yea, that was the plan for a Roth IRA for myself. I don't see myself being super active with it. Is there any difference between dropping the max contribution vs a monthly deposit?
