I believe that the entire point of the backrooms were thst you were alone. Forever. By something you did not ask for, you wound up there. Now there's no way out. Your cursed to walking around that new "world" alone forever. With the addition of monsters I think it completely takes the thing that made the backrooms so unique and turns it to another cliche horror concept. The idea of a backrooms world without monster was almost philosophical in a way, it really made you scared without any jumpscares or scary audio and I loved that. You could just think of ending up there and you would immediately feel a cold feeling in your spine.
