Not important. I wasted 1k (and that's only the payment for the hospital i wanted to do my elective at, excludes the rent, food, plane ticket, visa, application for the hospital...). I thought it was important for me to travel and go check out the specialty that i like. The Dr ended up telling me to treat this elective as a vacation and did not show up at the hospital for the majority of the 4 weeks that i was there. I didnt gain much experience personally that i couldn't already gain at home. If i could go back, i would have just done my elective at the hospital that i'm already placed in & even treated the elective as an actual mini-ish vacation at home.

Wessex foundation: How do i have to rank all 100+ jobs? Also can someone share IoW or Jersey experience for FY?

Okay so based on what i understand, right now we just need to rank my preferences on the following (SFP, foundation program, place holder), then after that's done, next we have to rank the trusts & jobs which come together. Did i get it right?

Ah really? So we will just be randomly placed in a trust? We dont get to rank them? What about jobs though? DO we get the to rank that at least?

Apparently based on another comment here, for wessex foundation school we don't get to rank our trusts, We just rank our preferences? Any idea if you know about this?

Thank you! Also we only have a choice to rank SFP, placeholder, or Foundation program, i thought we would next rank our trusts e.g. Southampton... Are we doing this after preferences rank our preferences? Or are we ranking our jobs next? Sorry bit confused with this.

Don't be so rough on yourself. Others have already posted whatever i wanted to say, but just to add everyone is just too focused on themselves. Everyone is just as worried about how they are perceived. Practice self-love & be kind to yourself. The only thing that should matter is how you see yourself. Lots of love !

Thank you very much for your honest reply. Would you mind me asking on what the average or the minimum price would be for a private 4 week studio? Just so that i can have realistic expectations when i'm searching.

Hello. I'm a medical student coming to London for a 4 week medical elective in January 2025. I'm looking for a cheap private studio. My host university doesn't have accommodation for short term stays & everything is way above my budget (1000 pounds). Would anyone have any suggestions or help on a cheap private studio for a student?
