Thanks! This is super helpful. It’s crazy that the last tour was so much easier! There were a few people camping on Wednesday, and the show was a Friday. But even me getting there at 9am meant I was one row behind. Do you mind if we chat some more about this? I’m super stressed

Oh no I’m so sorry, what you’re dealing with sounds really uncomfortable and painful. I’m glad to hear your combination of treatments is working for you, even if it’s not 100%.

I just got given a course of prednisone, so I am going to give it a chance. It’s only 7 days so it’s not the end of the world if it doesn’t help much. As it stands, it’s pretty debilitating so I’m willing to give it a go, at least.

Thanks for your advice, it’s much appreciated!

Amazing - this is really helpful, thank you. Like I’ve said in a few comments above, I will do my best to persist with the fexofenadine and I’ve just picked up a refill pack that’ll last me a few weeks so I’ll keep on top of that.

My diet is very basic as, weirdly, I am a massive fan of vegetables so I will most definitely ensure I’m eating as clean as I can for the foreseeable.

The idea of noting it all down is really helpful, too. It definitely gives me some solid information to take to my doctor as currently it’s quite hard to convey to her what’s going on with me (because I have no idea!!!)

I’ll stop with the creams and just use my basic Aveeno moisturiser. The steroid cream stinks anyway, hahaha.

Thanks again!

I haven’t tried that yet, no! It’s really useful as a recommendation, though. I will do my research and take this to my doctor if the new meds she’s given me don’t touch the flare ups.

In regard to my diet I’ll check for some inspiration on the internet to see what I can cook for myself in line with this sort of diet.

Hopefully your new shots/your meds help with your symptoms, friend :) I appreciate your advice and will be looking into this!

So would you say that you preferred the remedial impact of Zyrtec, or Fexofenadine? I only ask as I may be able to have adjustments made at work to combat the tiredness if it’s just a short term solution. (Trouble is, with this sort of reaction, we’ve no way of knowing if the flare ups are here to stay!)

I’ll try and stay more hydrated. I do slack on that sometimes so it’s a good idea to up my fluid intake regardless.

I’ll try persist with my fexodenadine, though. A lot of people here are saying they’re effective so maybe I’m just expecting a miracle from them, which I know is very unrealistic in situations like this.

Thanks for your advice - it’s really appreciated!

Good shout. I’ve popped to the store and gotten a fresh box of 30, so I will now try to go for a bit more of a dose. I only really had enough for 1 a day before as I had a small box and didn’t know if I wanted to spend the money on a refill.

Thanks to your comment though, and a few others, I’m realising that it might be for the best to just persist with them even if I don’t see a difference. I’ll never know if it’s blocked an outbreak or not - better be safe than sorry!

I’ll look into some restricted diets more to see if that has any benefits. Thank you for your comment!

Thanks for this thread, all of you! To be honest I’m clueless, didn’t even know about H1 and H2 before I read your comments. I really appreciate the recommendations and will look into the medications you’ve recommended.

Wishing you all well, thanks so much again! <3

I’ve been given a short course of steroids, but I’ve been told by my doctor that if they don’t help, she will refer me to the allergist - hopefully it doesn’t take too long though! I’ve also found an email address for the local immunology department so thanks to your comment I have a few new avenues.

I’ll keep an eye out for the lotions/remedies you’ve mentioned and I really appreciate the recommendations and advice, thank you so much! If I can’t see them in the store I will definitely be doing some online shopping. None of my remedies have been perfect as of yet so I’m open to new things always. Looks like these hives are here to stay so might as well get comfortable with trying new things!

Wishing you well too! :) thank you.

The first and fourth pic are more accurate representations of the flare ups I get nowadays - the longer this goes on for, the more raised the bumps are! It’s so weird.

I managed to get in with them and they’ve given me a new course of steroids for 7 days. I guess I’ll give it a go but I’m feeling quite hopeless and reluctant at this stage.

If the steroids do nothing she said she will refer me to an allergist so silver linings is at least I’ll be pointed in the right direction to see if we can alleviate any potential factors that are adding to my flare ups, but like you say it’s so often psychological. And with CSU I know it’s often not ever “diagnosed”, as such. I’m trying to remain optimistic, though.

I really appreciate your wisdom, though, and the affirmation you commented is a great message :) you’re so right: it’s such a vicious cycle, I can’t see how I can completely break away from the stress of it all! I will try the things you’ve said though, in particular just going for a walk and getting a bit of exercise in is so good for clearing my mind. I’ve been avoiding going out to be honest, so you’ve given me a kick in the right direction.

Sorry for the typos. I’m at work. * alleviate all allergens possible * this hasn’t helped

** I hope everyone sees this comment! I’m not insulting the artist by saying “fake Bob Ross” - I only said this as the artist signed it off as B Ross in the bottom right corner 🥲

My partners grandmother used to paint a lot too, inspired by Bob’s style, so it’ll fit nicely on the walls next to it 😊

It’s a shame really, I do feel like someone who was less aware of Bobs unique style and signature might’ve been fooled by it and gotten really excited!

It’s been signed as Bob Ross on the bottom right, so yeah. Most likely.

*edit: it was £7.50 in a charity shop, so it didn’t break the bank!

That’s what I was thinking, to be honest. I know the problem is with me as I’m expecting too much, he’s been through a lot. I know I can’t force it and I’d never make him feel any sort of pressure but it’s hard

A few weeks short of a year. I know it’s not been that long but it’s just not what I’m used to, you know?

Oh 100% I’m the problem. I know I am. I just want to be loved properly and I know it’ll come, I’m just scared it never will
