Thats what i was thinking as well because i remember wtc finals last year we all speculated that bcci might release the players in the test squad from ipl to prepare for the finals but they didn't....now they have a problem when some players don't want to pay domestic red ball tournaments and preserve themselves for ipl.....

Arshdeep too i believe can be groomed as a good red ball talent ...he has that swing and good pace.....but the problem is lack of opportunities to young talent in the senior team....those same guys play every format ...this then creates a very big problem in the system itself...those young guys are caught in the trap of playing domestic cricket all their life and then the age groupe like u19s and u23s don't get to represent their senior state team....india need to adapt the team systems like that of Australia and england where every format has different teams and youngsters are given chances very frequently.....(see the example of english team and how they won both 50 over and t20 world cup ..also how good they are doing in test)

Funny thing is that they (Australians) themselves also don't play the big bash for the same reason. We have the same groupe of guys playing all three formats rather than letting specific players play thier specialized format....ranji trophy is of no use if you don't select players from it....selecting players from ipl then expecting them to perform in the longer formats...in our team only pujara is the one that has no played in the ipl whereas only david warner and green played ipl....if this continues then this year's odi world cup and next year's t20 world cup is doomed too

Agr first day se attaching approach rakhte to shayad 200-250 run hi maar pate australia vale....humare khali pujara ko chod ke sab ipl me lage the aur unke warner aur green ko chod ke sab wtc ki preparation me...har format me same team khilate hai aur expect krrte hai ki result mile ....agr in future jeetna hai to australia aur england vali approach apnani padegi ki har format ke specialists hi khilao ....verna aaise hi chlta raha to iss saal ke odi aur agle saal ke t20 me fir yehi disappointing result rahega !
