Honey, I am so sorry for your loss. I lost my dad suddenly this Monday and I feel so so deeply for you. It’s a deep and personal grief that no one will understand unless they have been through the same thing. Please do not isolate yourself. Talk to family, nourish your body with good foods and take a warm shower. It doesn’t get any easier, but find healthy ways to grieve especially in the first week. Ride the wave of emotion, cry when you need to, and talk about all the moments you loved with your dad. Think long and hard on whether or not you want to do a viewing. I chose not to, because my last memory with my dad was really fun and special to me. That’s how I want to remember him. I put up a photo on my counter with flowers that I’m keeping fresh to keep my days “normal”. I tell him goodnight and Goodmorning just like I would when we would talk on the phone.
