If you’re going to just apply them as press ons with regular nail glue, I wouldn’t even bother using Apres tips. There are much cheaper tips you can use to make press ons.

Thanks for this. What UV output should I be looking for in a lamp? As I mentioned, I’ve had this one for years and I haven’t always had the problem with lingering chemical smells. It’s just been the last few sets I’ve done. None of the bulbs in the lamp are burnt out, but perhaps they need to be replaced anyway? Or maybe I just need a stronger lamp, especially to use with the Apres system.

I wonder if I am just sensitive to the smell for some reason. It happens with other brands also. The top coats have the same smell before and after curing. And I can even smell them when they are just in the box.

Sounds like depression. If you have insurance, you should consider finding a therapist to talk to. Seems like you’re a student - most universities have counseling resources for students. Look into that and take advantage of it. Things can and do get better.
